Nightwing is back in action at DC Comics. Screen Rant has an exclusive new look at the hero's upcoming series that will help kickstart the Infinite Frontier era, which shows a welcome return to form for Dick Grayson. For fans hoping to see Nightwing back in his iconic costume while fighting crime in Blüdhaven, they should be very, very pleased.

Late last year, DC Comics revealed that Nightwing's ongoing series would continue under the new creative team of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo, who previously collaborated on an excellent run at Suicide Squad and the Injustice series. The series features colors from Adriano Lucas and letters from Wes Abbott. Dick has been put the ringer in his post-Rebirth era stories, as he became "Ric Grayson" while losing his memories after getting shot in the head by KGBeast. Recent stories have brought Nightwing back into the forefront and it seems Taylor's and Redondo's run is about to embrace everything that makes the character great.

Screen Rant has an exclusive first look at the lettered pages for the upcoming Nightwing series. In the previews, Nightwing encounters a group of lowlifes in Blüdhaven beating up a three-legged dog. He quickly jumps in and tells them that what they're doing is "disgusting." When the group responds by saying they're just having fun and pull a gun on the dog, he decides to take them down.

He doesn't want the dog to suffer the same fate as him, as Nightwing tells them he's not letting them shoot her. He jokes that if he lets the dog get shot, it could lose his memory and become a cab driver (poking fun at his own previous fate).

After the lowlifes run away from Nightwing, Dick reassures the dog that everything is okay and that he's not going to hurt her. The scared animal responds by biting him in the hand. The preview ends with Nightwing telling the cute animal he's going to take her to the vet, while he's going to make a quick visit to the doctor. It's clearly the start of a beautiful relationship.

Honestly, it's great to see Dick back as himself and patrolling the streets as Nightwing. The previews are bursting with energy and positivity, which is a great direction to see this series go. Taylor and Redondo are known for putting a lot of heart into their books which is the perfect prescription for Nightwing. The Infinite Frontier era Nightwing series is going to be fun, heartwarming, action-packed, and full of great moments for the hero. It's everything DC Comics readers should want from his ongoing solo title. It's a great time to be a fan of Nightwing again. Nightwing #78 is in stores on March 16, 2021.
