While Nightwing has been more sure of himself as a hero than ever in his ongoing series from Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo, Dick Grayson's rise to his current role wasn't always the easiest ride. As Batman's first Robin, Dick was challenged with learning the ropes about being a hero from The Dark Knight. However, after leaving Batman and joining the Teen Titans as Nightwing, Dick Grayson has experienced many ups and downs in his personal life - from his love triangle with Barbara Gordon and Starfire to being shot in the head and developing an all-new persona as Ric Grayson. However, in his current series, Nightwing has stabilized his life and become the protector of Bludhaven. At the same time, he continues to grow his relationship with Gordon and learn more about his recently introduced sister, Melinda Zucco.
In stunning new art from Bruno Redondo and Hi-Fi (H/T @CBR) for Nightwing #100, the greatest heroes in the DC Universe assemble to celebrate the titular hero's landmark issue. The cover art, which homages the classic title card for DC's Super Friends, features Nightwing alongside his closest allies, friends, and heroes in the DC Universe. The artwork showcases the incredible impact Dick Grayson has had across the pages of DC Comics.
The colorful art from Bruno Redondo features plenty of recognizable faces from the entire Bat-Family, the Teen Titans, and the Justice League heroes who have fought alongside Nightwing over the years. CBR.com also revealed a handful of other variant covers from artists, including Babs Tarr, Dan Mora, Jamal Campbell, Javier Fernandez, Jorge Fornes, Jorge Jiménez, and Travis Moore. DC is making Nightwing's 100th issue celebration one to remember.
Considering Nightwing's ongoing series was one of the more critically maligned series with the whole Ric Grayson saga, the fact it's become one of the most beloved after Taylor and Redondo took over the book is nothing short of spectacular - but is a testament to how much fans love the hero. The 100th issue celebration is well deserved, as the comic will likely feature some cameos from the most important heroes in Dick Grayson's life in the DC Universe. The Bruno Redondo cover will appear on Nightwing #100 from DC Comics, which will arrive in comic book stores on January 17, 2023.
