The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of Disney's darkest movies, but it is also one of the best. The setting of Halloweentown is unlike anything else Disney has ever created, with the eerie and spooky environment being one that really comes alive due to the incredible personalities that live there. With the focus of the town being Halloween, the residents spend their year planning on how to spook people in the best way possible.

While the town does have its own Mayor, it really is Jack Skellington who is the star attraction, and the most popular man around. But what if Disney was to add other characters from its history, who would fit in best?

Dr. Facilier

The main villain within Princess And The Frog would be a brilliant character to exist in Halloweentown, and he feels like a natural fit given his charisma and personality. Considering that he is able to use voodoo, Dr. Facilier would be able to really add something to Halloweentown and be a productive member of the area.

His scenes are always full of magic and vibrant colors, and adding some purples and greens into that world would be a lot of fun. While he is a true villain, it is easy to imagine how he could get Jack Skellington excited about an idea, with the two of them possibly being great friends.

Headless Horseman

Disney's scary version of the Headless Horseman holding his head

The Headless Horseman isn't actually involved that much within The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad, however, he certainly makes his presence felt. He's a scary and intimidating character, and the fact he has no head is obviously something that would spook people.

However, while he is feared within his own movie, if the character was to appear in Halloweentown, he'd likely be a real hit. It's easy to see how the Mayor would get on board with this character, simply because of how scary he could be, which instantly makes him a hero in that world.

Chernabog

In terms of sheer power and scare factor, Chernabog really is one of the ultimate Disney characters. Because of that, he would be an instant hit in Halloweentown. The dark vibe that he brings in Fantasia is something that really shifts the tone of the movie, but in The Nightmare Before Christmas, it would just be normal.

It's easy to imagine Chernabog's Bald Mountain being perched up on a hill near Halloweentown, as he watches over everything that goes on. The Mayor might be the man in charge, but he isn't a very confident character, and having Chernabog be the real character in charge would be a great twist.

Miguel

Coco Movie Miguel plays the guitar

Not every character inside Halloweentown has to be evil, and Jack Skellington is proof of that. While he might actually ruin Christmas, he is only doing his best to try and be part of something new. That is why Miguel, from Coco, would be fantastic, as he is someone who would bring a lot of energy to the place.

While some Disney characters might be scared of an area like this, because Miguel has experienced the Land of the Dead, it's something that likely wouldn't faze him. Bringing his music into this world could light it up in a totally new way.

Cheshire Cat

The Cheshire Cat smiling in Alice in Wonderland

Much like Miguel, the Cheshire Cat is actually a nice, kind character, but there is a real element of mystery about him that would fit nicely in Halloweentown. Cheshire Cat is able to pop up at random, vanishing as he pleases and the way he provides riddles as advice is something that could be a lot of fun in this world.

The setting of Wonderland is certainly a very eccentric one that is filled with big personalities, and at times, it can be very dark and scary. Therefore transitioning over to Halloweentown wouldn't be that big of a leap for this character, with his charisma and confidence being a great addition.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie

Three for the price of one, Huey, Dewey, and Louie simply do not go anywhere without each other. Because of that, they would be heading to Halloweentown together, and they would be out to cause as much mischief as possible, which is what they do best.

Halloweentown is all about causing chaos, and that is why this trio would really thrive. Being able to play pranks and tricks and different people, in a similar manner to how Lock, Shock, and Barrell work in the movie.

Miss Price

It isn't just Disney's animated characters that would be a good fit into Halloweentown, and the character of Miss. Price is an example of that. She would work in this environment purely because of the fact she's a witch, and she is trying to learn and adapt her magic.

Being able to be around some characters who like that type of thing would work out well for her. Plus, Miss. Price is an intelligent character who is a good judge of character, and that would likely help improve Halloweentown generally, as she would no doubt find things about Jack that she likes.

Maleficent

One of Disney's most iconic villains and someone who really would slot into the Halloweentown world nicely is Maleficent. She is wickedly evil and that is something that is celebrated here, yet in the live-action movies, she is also shown to be a nice character in reality.

That would still make her a good fit, as Sally is a perfect example of someone who lives in Halloweentown but isn't necessarily evil. Therefore either version of Maleficent would work in this setting, and she would certainly make sure her presence was known.

The Wicked Queen

The Wicked Queen in Snow White

The Wicked Queen is someone who is pure evil, but she's also incredibly powerful, which would no doubt allow her to be quite popular within The Nightmare Before Christmas world. The fact she's able to change her appearance and conjure up poison would be something that works in this environment.

Either version of the character (Wicked Queen/Old Hag) would prove to be great in Halloweentown. Being able to help the others take Halloween to new heights of fear, helping Dr. Finkelstein develop his experiments, which could be a dangerous combination.

The Horned King

Much like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Disney's The Black Cauldron is very rarely talked about among some of the other classic movies. That's because it is one of Disney's darker stories and it isn't the traditional upbeat and bright adventure that is expected from the company.

However, that is what makes The Horned King a perfect fit into Halloweentown. Just from an aesthetic standpoint, it is very clear to see why he would work in that area. But because he is so evil as well, he would be able to work well, helping to come up with other crazy ideas to torment people.
