Nicole Kidman co-starred alongside Colin Firth in this 2013 Australian war film, based on the autobiography of the same name by Eric Lomax.

Taking place during World War II, the film follows a former British army officer who finds out that the man who inflicted torture on him is alive. He and his wife make plans to get revenge. Kidman's believable performance was considered one of the film's leading qualities.

Almost 30 years ago, Kidman took on a role in the 1991 coming-of-age comedy-drama, Flirting. It tells of a boy who is sent to an all-male boarding school in New South Wales by his parents, who are hoping this makes him successful. This 2003 epic war film, based on the novel of the same name by Charles Frazier, tells of a man from the Confederate army, W.P. (Jude Law), who hopes to travel to the woman he's in love with back home.

Yes, this woman is played by Kidman. Her character, Ada Monroe, is the daughter of a preacher from Charleston, South Carolina. She courted W.P. Inman before he left for war. The real feeling and supporting cast kept critics interested.

Moulin Rouge! (7.6)

Though Moulin Rouge! recently made itself a home on Broadway, it all began as a romantic jukebox musical drama in 2001. Starring Ewan McGregor alongside Nicole Kidman, the film tells of an English writer who becomes enchanted by the cabaret star of the Moulin Rouge in Paris. Lion (8.0)

The other film to score a solid 8.0 rating is the 2016 biographical drama Lion, based on the non-fiction novel A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley.

The movie follows Saroo, who as a five-year-old, gets taken away from his home in India. Though he is adopted by a kind Australian couple, he later sets out to find the family he was born into. Though Dev Patel stars, Kidman and David Wenham act as Saroo's adoptive parents. The performances of all the actors were widely regarded. This had Patel and Kidman getting nominations in the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories at the Academy Awards.
