Nickelodeon has announced the immersive booth experience and panels that they are planning to bring to San Diego Comic-Con this year. Nickelodeon, which is a subsidiary of Paramount Global, has been one of the most iconic names in children's entertainment since the cable channel's creation in 1979, though its biggest heyday was in the 90s and 2000s. Throughout the years it has provided young people with iconic and popular programming including the sketch series All That, live-action sitcoms including Victorious (which originally gave pop star Ariana Grande her big break), Drake and Josh, and iCarly, as well as animated series like The Fairly OddParentsSpongeBob SquarePants, and The Loud House.

This year's Comic-Con, which takes place from Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 24, is promising to be a huge occasion. For one thing, Marvel is returning to the Con for the first time in several years, as the company has spent several years announcing its latest developments exclusively at the official Disney convention D23. However, there have also been events announced from many other companies including Prime Video panels on Wheel of Time and their upcoming fantasy spinoff series The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power and 18 panels for Disney series like Abbott ElementaryThe Simpsons, and the Marvel animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

Today, Nickelodeon officially announced the extent of its participation in San Diego Comic-Con 2022. The big highlight of their announcement is four exciting new panels, including SpongeBob SquarePants: Dive into the SpongeBob Universe! and Avatar: Braving the Elements – LIVE!, which details the creation of their landmark series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The other two panels, Introducing Transformers: EarthSpark! and Nickelodeon’s Rugrats: The Babies are Back!, will be doing a deep dive into new series from the network from popular IPs.

This announcement from Nickelodeon also includes details on the immersive booth experience that they are bringing to the show floor. The booth, which will be 1,800 square feet, will feature interactive designs that highlight the worlds of SpongeBobAvatarMonster High, and Transformers. They will also have daily appearances from a 16-foot-tall Bumblebee Transformer, along with an EarthSpark AR experience, a Monster High: The Movie interactive game, a giant television from the SpongeBob spinoff The Patrick Star Show, and photo opportunities from Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and Rugrats. There will also be autograph booths for SpongeBob Universe, Rugrats, Transformers: EarthSpark, and the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast along with costumed character appearances.

Nickelodeon is certainly primed to deliver a heady blast of nostalgia to people who grew up on their programming. However, they are also designed to delight kids of all ages. It is certain that big announcements will be made at the panels for their new series, however considering the fact that both Avatar and SpongeBob have new projects in the works as well, those retrospective panels surely won't be without their own surprises.
