During Gamescom 2021's Future Games Show event, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl confirmed both CatDog from the show CatDog and April O'Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These two new Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl characters will be a part of the game at launch and join an already impressive lineup of Nickelodeon properties including SpongeBob SquarePants, AHH! Real Monsters, and Invader Zim.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl seems set to translate the same gameplay formula that made Smash Bros. a success for Nintendo to Nickelodeon's characters, and judging from early gameplay trailers it could be a winning combination. Because Nickelodeon's game is taking a similar approach to its roster as Smash Bros. does with its character reveals, players have yet to find out just exactly who all will be included at launch. Some speculation has been fueled by character outlines on All-Star Brawl's cover art, but now fans have a few more answers.

As one of the closing reveals of Gamescom 2021's Future Games Show, it was announced both CatDog and April O'Neil will be available in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl at launch. Check out the character reveal trailers, including a good look at both characters' movesets and gameplay styles, below:

These new Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl characters join an already stacked roster. So far, Nickelodeon has confirmed the following characters will also be featured in the game, and, based on the outlines of All-Star Brawl's official box art, there are still more many players expect to see announced before launch date:

  • Michelangelo
  • Lincoln Loud
  • Powdered Toast Man
  • Sandy Cheeks
  • Patrick Star
  • Oblina
  • Nigel Thornberry
  • Lucy Loud
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Helga
  • Reptar
  • Zim
  • Danny Phantom
  • Leonardo

It's unclear what other television show properties Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will include, or if it will offer something akin to Super Smash Bros. Trophies in order to give representation to characters from Nickelodeon shows that don't end up on the game's final roster. Crossovers between different properties under the same umbrella isn't an idea that's exclusive to Smash Bros, of course; Sony famously attempted a similar project when it released PlayStation All-Star Battle Royale. No matter who is revealed as the next fighter for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawlhowever, it's clear the roster is already very stacked - and the inclusion of April O'Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, along with Michelangelo and Leonardo, means there is likely more turtle power on the way.
