How to Play CatDog in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Down Attack

CatDog’s Down Special Attack in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is called Tag Team. This move is extremely important, as it allows players to switch between controlling Cat and Dog. While this mainly changes who is leading the fight, it can also change certain moves. For example, using a Neutral Strong Attack as Cat will do a Little Punch, while using it as Dog will do a Heavy Punch. The pair also have different attacks for their Aerial Up Strong Attack, Dash Strong Attack, and Special Attack.

Every character in All-Star Brawl has their own heavy and light attacks. Light attacks for CatDog include ‘Take This Seriously’ (Neutral), Uppercut (Up), Head Whip (Down), Streetch! (Neutral Aerial), Twin Spin (Up Aerial), Double Dance (Down Aerial), and Gotta Chase! (Dash). CatDog’s Aerial Light attacks allow for some good recoveries, and some good spikes to prevent enemies from recovering.

CatDog’s Strong attacks include Heavy Punch/Little Punch (Neutral), Talking Stone (Up), Golden Hydrant (Down), Springy Headbutt (Neutral Aerial), Fierce Flex/Feline Fist (Up Aerial), Bouncy Bickering (Down Aerial), and Fight Cloud/Take This Seriously (Dash). Dog’s version of Strong attacks do more damage, but are slower. On the other hand, Cat’s attack variants do slightly less damage, but are quicker. Thus, players can switch between the two depending on what the situation calls for.

Finally, CatDog’s Neutral Special Attack is Boomerang Bone/Hairball, and their Up Special Attack is called The Mighty. Dog’s Boomerang Bone is a long-range frisbee-style projectile (that can be hit again to catch opponents off guard), while Cat’s Hairball bounces along the ground, keeping enemies at a distance.

While plenty of CatDog’s moveset involves them technically fighting each other, the team works fantastic together when it comes to wiping out the competition. CatDog’s duo fighting style is unlike many other fighting game characters, making them an extremely fun unit to test out.
