The Avatar and Legend of Korra stages for the upcoming Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl have been revealed in two new gameplay videos. The videos confirmed the inclusion of the popular Nickelodeon franchise in the 2D action brawler. While it was previously speculated that both Aang and Korra would be present on the brawler’s roster, it wasn’t confirmed whether players would actually get to battle as the powerful Avatars when the game launches on October 5. Players had spotted Aang’s silhouette in official Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl cover art, but the developers remained quiet until the official announcement on Friday.

Introductory gameplay videos have been a staple for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl as the release date gets closer. Characters like Reptar from Rugrats and Oblina from Real Monsters were shown off in their own gameplay videos, with an announcer from the development team revealing their exclusive movesets. Reptar is a slow but fierce competitor with strong, devastating attacks, while Oblina is a fast-paced fighter who can take advantage of opponents’ mistakes. Most recently, Aang and Korra got similar treatments, with their own video outlining their unique strategies. Included in those videos were reveals for the characters’ respective stages, which incorporate key lore points from their shows.

Korra’s stage, Harmonic Convergence, was revealed in a YouTube video from GameMill Entertainment. The stage, inspired by The Legend of Korra, is a medium-sized stage with no platforms but one large one, much like Final Destination from Super Smash Bros. In the background, the spirits Raava, the spirit of light and peace, and Vaatu, the spirit of darkness and chaos, are fighting “a desperate battle for the fate of the world.”

Aang’s stage, Western Earth Temple, was also revealed in a GameMill Entertainment video, which confirmed the Last Airbender’s inclusion on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl’s roster. The stage is an extra-large-sized stage with five platforms. In the background, Appa, Aang’s flying bison, is gliding around. In between the structures. Aang’s glider can also be spotted leaning up against the center temple, though it likely won’t provide Aang an escape if he finds himself in crisis.

Both Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl stages are fitting for their respective characters. Korra’s Harmonic Convergence stage has the iconic art and feel of the sequel series, and the background with Raava and Vaatu adds mysticism and lore for fans of the show to enjoy. It’s especially prevalent when the two spirits collide, forming a yin/yang circle. Aang’s stage, Western Earth Temple, is also perfect for the character, including a good amount of easter eggs for veterans of the show to spot.

The stages also include different strategies for players to learn, as part of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's bid to become competitively viable. The Western Earth Temple is large, with many platforms for players to retreat to. The stage will likely house larger battles with four players duking it out in the 2D landscape. As for Korra’s map, Harmonic Convergence, the stage will likely house smaller, more intimate battles. Players won’t have platforms to escape to, either, so they’ll have to rely on their skill with their character’s moveset to come out on top.
