There will be no shortage of awesome guests to meet at New York Comic Con 2018, including actors who have starred in everything from DC and the MCU to TV sci-fi and '90s sitcoms. The four-day-long, cross-genre event has an impressive lineup of guests that offers something for any attendee.
From October 4-7, the Javits Center in New York City (as well as Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater) will host the fully immersive NYCC, offering guests the chance to attend live panels, stroll through the creative Artist Alley, and even meet a wide range of actors, illustrators, storytellers, and more, with autograph and photo opportunities. And, while there is a massive lineup of creatives attending the event, there is a handful of celebrities who especially stand out.
So, whether you're attending NYCC or are simply curious as to which of your favorite celebrities are taking the one-on-one approach with fans, these are the guests that Screen Rant is most excited to see take the floor.
Promoting the upcoming DC adaptation of Aquaman from director James Wan (The Conjuring, Furious 7), Jason Momoa will be available at NYCC for eager fans awaiting the character's very first live-action standalone movie ever. After breaking out in both Game of Thrones and the remake of Conan the Barbarian, Momoa took on Arthur Curry/Aquaman in Zack Snyder's Justice League. At New York Comic Con, he'll be available for autographs on Saturday from 11am-2pm and 4-5pm, though there won't be an official DC or Aquaman panel.
Danai Gurira is a prominent supporting character in two massively popular franchises. In Marvel's Black Panther, she plays Okoye, a member of Wakanda's armed forces; and in AMC's The Walking Dead, she plays the sword-wielding Michonne. At New York Comic Con this year, she'll not only be signing autographs, but headling the Danai Gurira Spotlight panel on Sunday of NYCC from 4-5pm.
As for autographs, she'll be available on Saturday from 11am-12:20pm, 2:30-4pm, and 5:10-6pm; and on Sunday from 11am-12:30pm and 2:30-3:30pm.
While David Tennant is best known for his role as the 10th Doctor in Doctor Who, the actor will be attending New York Comic Con to promote the brand new Amazon series Good Omens, adapted from Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name. Tennant will star as the lively demon Crowley whose one job is to work alongside the angel Aziraphale (played by Michael Sheen) in order to kickstart Armageddon.
Aside from the Good Omens panel, as well as the Doctor Who panel TARDIS Time: Matt Smith, David Tennant, & Alex Kingston Live, Tennant will be available for autographs on Friday from 12-1:30pm and 4:30-6pm; and on Sunday from 2:30-4:30pm.
Another former Doctor from Doctor Who, Matt Smith will be attending New York Comic Con for three of the four days, not only to meet fans, but to look to both the past and future of his career. The recent Emmy nominee for Netflix's The Crown, who is also slated to appear in J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX, will kick off his time at NYCC with TARDIS Time: Matt Smith, David Tennant, & Alex Kingston Live on Friday of NYCC from 8-10pm. He'll then be part of the Legacies World Premiere Pilot Screening and Q&A panel on Saturday from 10:30-11:30am, followed by autographs from 2:30-4:30pm, as well as 6-7pm, and then on Sunday from 2:30-4:30pm.
Though the Avengers won't be present this year at New York Comic Con, Mark Ruffalo (who plays Bruce Banner/Hulk) will be their official representative. Having most recently starred in both Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War, Ruffalo will be available for meet-and-greets with fans (though, as was the case with Infinity War, he won't be showing up as the big green guy).
Ruffalo will be available for autographs on Thursday of NYCC at 11am-12:30pm, 2:30-4pm, and 5-6pm.
After kicking off her career in the Fast and Furious franchise, Michelle Rodriguez has since starred in major action blockbusters like Resident Evil, Avatar, and the upcoming Alita: Battle Angel from director Robert Rodriguez. Now, she'll be attending New York Comic Con to help promote Rodriguez's new VR series The Limit at the aptly titled Robert Rodriguez & Michelle Rodriguez Talk New VR Series panel on Thursday of NYCC from 11:15-11:30am.
She'll then be available for autographs on Saturday from 11am-12:10pm, 1-2pm, 3-5pm, and 6:20-7pm.
Though Alex Kingston has starred in everything from ER to Arrow, she's best known for her role as time traveler River Song from Doctor Who. She starred on screen alongside David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Peter Capaldi, and even though her run on the show is (seemingly) over, she'll be celebrating her time on Doctor Who with the panel TARDIS Time: Matt Smith, David Tennant, & Alex Kingston Live on Friday of NYCC from 8-10pm.
Kingston will also be signing autographs earlier in the day on Friday from 11am-1pm and 3:30-6pm; on Saturday from 11am-12:20pm, 3-4:30pm, and 5-7pm; and Sunday from 1:30-4:30pm.
