While farming the plethora of items and materials in New World, players may wish to increase their inventory space. Gathering essential materials can quickly fill up a player's inventory, causing it to become over-encumbered. While running back to town to sell or store items is an option, this method will become problematic for New World players who perhaps need a load of materials for crafting or questing in mid to late-game.

Fortunately, increasing the weight limit of one's inventory isn't too complicated. Players can craft a unique item from a town's Outfitting Station. While the recipe requires some farming and grinding in New World, the reasonable cost of materials and low-level requirements shouldn't be a problem for players, considering its beneficial use.

To get more inventory space in New World, visit a town's Outfitting Station, and search for the crafting recipe for a Coarse Leather Bag. This item will improve Encumbrance, meaning it increases the weight limit of a player's inventory. This bag only requires players to reach crafting levels 5-6, which means players can acquire this gear reasonably early in the game. In addition, there are also the options of adding New World's Azoth to the recipe or having a slight chance to obtain a helpful perk for the bag.

New World Crafting Coarse Leather Bag

To craft the Coarse Leather Bag in New World, players will need several materials:

  • 1 Minor Rune of Holding
  • 25 Linen
  • 45 Coarse Leather
  • 10 Iron Ingots

The Minor Rune of Holding can be purchased from the player's faction rewards shop within a town. It will cost 1,000 faction points and 250 gold coins. Players can acquire faction points by completing quests for their faction. It is important to note that PvP-related missions will provide more factions points than PvE quests.

Players need to find hemp or other plant fibers and refine them at a Loom to get Linen in New World. Creating Linen only requires 4 Fibers. Hemp grows in abundance in grassy fields and likewise can be found in forests.

Coarse Leather is obtained from skinning animals and taking their hides or pelts to the Tannery for refinement. There is plenty of wild game that roams the wilderness outside towns, so it shouldn't take long to acquire the necessary materials.

Iron is a common resource in New World that players can find scattered across Aeternum. There are plenty of iron ore veins in the game's starting regions, as well as in higher-level areas as well. To make iron ingots, take the ore collected and smelt it at a town's Smelter.
