Warning! Spoilers ahead for Shazam! #1!

In Shazam #1, DC's new Superman Jonathan Kent is officially crowned as hot, just like his father. Superman was recently called out for being hot, which is an obvious statement that isn't said out loud very often. The people of the DC universe are once again pointing out that Superman is attractive, only this time they're not talking about Clark Kent, but his son and replacement Jonathan.

Jonathan is going through a lot of changes right now. Over in the Superman line of comics, Clark is preparing his son to take his place as Superman. The official passing of the mantle happens in Superman: Son of Kal-El #1, which is available to read now. Not only will Jonathan have the whole world on his shoulders, but he will be perceived differently. He is no longer just Superman's son or his sidekick, he is the definitive Superman.

In Shazam! #1 by Tim Sheridan, Clayton Henry, and Marcelo Maiolo, the new Superman saves Billy Batson when the young hero's powers fail him. Afterwards, one teen girl comments, "Um, okay, Superman's hot," to which another girl replies, "Super hot." What's especially great is the fact that the original Superman just got called out as hot by Grifter in Batman: Urban Legends #4. In the context of that, the new Superman being called out as hot is very funny. It seems that this will be an ongoing occurrence as Jonathan takes his dad's place as Superman, as both versions of Superman are hot in the eyes of Earth's citizens.

Just a few years ago, the new Superman would've never have been called hot. As Jonathan reveals to Billy Batson in this issue, the ex-Superboy has been aged up several years. Now, Jonathan is seventeen and is becoming as attractive as the original Superman. Obviously, Superman comes from Krypton, an alien planet. Naturally, with him possessing the ultimate arsenal of powers known to man, it makes sense that he is extremely good looking. Thus, with Jonathan being born under Earth's yellow sun rays, he could become arguably more powerful and better looking than his father.

But who is the best looking out of Jonathan and Clark? Well, seeing that Jon was called out by two people, it could be him! DC's new Superman is primed to be their most attractive hero, especially to the citizens his own age who see him as the pinnacle of what they aspire to be. It will be interesting to see if DC ever acknowledge who is the ultimate winner in this theoretical game between the two heroes. It's only a matter of time before Superman's hotness pops up again as a topic, considering how close these two occurrences were! Shazam! #1 is available in comic book stores and on digital platforms now.
