New Pokémon Snap has gotten a full unveiling today, and included in this new batch of information is its price and size.  This information comes with the release of a new trailer showcasing all of what New Pokémon Snap has to offer.

Pokémon Snap has built up a cult following over the years. For being a spinoff title, it's considered unique among fans for its concept and gameplay. The gameplay mainly consists of taking pictures of Pokémon in the wild and getting scored based on said pictures, and getting the highest score possible on stages provides an arcade-like experience of replaying stages to take the best pictures. But more than that, Pokémon Snap is known for showcasing various Pokémon creatures as if they were animals in nature, which is exciting, because no other Pokémon titles tend to slow down and show these creatures act like actual wildlife.

Along with the release date, New Pokémon Snap's price and size are now on the eShop listing of the game, as reported by Nintendo Life. The game will be a full priced Switch game at $59.99, the same price as a mainline Pokémon installment, and will be 6.8 GBs in size. In comparison, Pokémon Sword & Shield are 9.5 GBs at the same price tag. It remains to be seen how long New Pokémon Snap will be, but seeing this title as the same price as Pokémon Sword and Shield is somewhat surprising. Then again, given how the presentation looks and the amount of replayability the first game was known for, it's very possible that players will get plenty of bang for their buck if the content is similar to the first installment from 1999.

Pokemon Snap Nintendo Switch landscape

From the footage that's been seen thus far, the presentation in New Pokémon Snap is looking to be among the best the series has seen. Pokémon Sword & Shield's presentation was criticized for not living up to the standards of a mainline Pokémon installment on a current generation console, but New Pokémon Snap sets a new bar for the graphical quality that modern Pokémon can reach up to. With how vast and sprawling the environments are, it's almost hard to believe that the game is only about 7 GBs in size.

If New Pokémon Snap can look this good on the Nintendo Switch, it brings up the possibility of the eventual Pokémon Diamond & Pearl remakes having the same quality in presentation. Given that Game Freak has now had multiple installments of the series on the Switch, it's not out of the question that the Gen 4 remakes could have the same level of quality. Though this is also on the assumption that the Gen 4 remakes are announced and released this year, which still isn't guaranteed as of yet. But until they are announced, fans can look forward to the arrival of New Pokémon Snap on the Nintendo Switch on April 30th.
