Destiny 2  now has a new season available that leads up to what will be dropping this fall. Season of Arrivals brings new gear and other loot for the entire player-base as they take on a new threat, "The Darkness". Thus, there will also be a 'new player level boost' implemented in which this guide will explain the details.

Destiny 2 was originally released on September 6, 2017, by Bungie that brings a solely online free-to-play first-person shooter across a variety of cosmic realms. The story entails a decimated Earth that has dwindled down to a single city that's the last of its kind. It's the only safe-haven there is and there's a source of protection called "The Light" that shields the city from potential alien threats. Players take control of warriors called "Guardians" who are tasked to protect "The Light" by any means necessary. On a fateful day, a particular alien race called, "The Cabal", led by Dominus Ghaul manages to break into the last city and steal 'The Light' from its people. Shortly after the attack, the Guardians wake up from their last skirmish with Dominus Ghaul and his minions and realize that their powers have weakened. So, everyone in the last city migrates to another safe location called "The Farm" to reassemble their situation and plan their next course of action to take back what's rightfully theirs. It's up to the Guardians to take off into an epic adventure across the stars to retrieve "The Light" and smite Dominus Ghaul and his Red Legion Army in order to save their species.

Season of Arrivals has a slew of new content and upgrades to prep players for the upcoming 'Beyond Light' expansion and there's a 'player level boost' that can be accessed to break through the current cap. With this current upgrade, players will see an increase with the current player level, but there's also a way to go beyond it. In each season of Destiny 2, there are special artifacts tucked away somewhere that players need to hunt down that will boost the current maxed out stats that they currently have. In this current season, players will need to find the 'Seed of Silver Wings' which will increase the cap for; abilities, weapons, and their overall power level.

When players first start their session after the update, they'll be thrust into a mission to where they'll need to rescue Eris Morn from a new invading enemy. As they battle through this mission, they'll eventually come across a large sublime looking tree toward the end. Eris Morn will be near it and players will need to speak to him in order to officially complete the mission. Afterward, go to the 'Quests' menu and select the 'In The Face of Darkness' quest. It will note that players will need to go to the 'Annex in the Tower' to talk to The Drifter. Once he's found, he'll give you some small talk about the floating pyramids and the current state of things. Then, he'll present players the artifact, 'Seed of Silver Wings' in which players can equip for free. According to the Drifter, this artifact was forged to soak up the dark energy that's powering up the Pyramids in the sky and this plays as an important story element in the following mission. So, this mission is when players will be able to upgrade the artifact (unlimited capacity) when gaining XP during the completion of tasks and take-down of enemies. This artifact has 12 mods that players can select and unlock during their playthrough that will enhance the skills of all classes.

Players who haven't capped their power level in previous Seasons will automatically get a boost when they reach their next rank. The current max for the power level is 1050, (1060 with Pinnacle Gear). While players upgrade the artifact, they can break well beyond the 1060 hard cap and keep building up. The mods with this Season's artifact does not come with any kind of energy cost when upgrading. Plus, there aren't any previous unlocks required to access the new mods and start upgrading the artifact. The more the artifact is upgraded, the faster XP is accumulated. Hence, there's basically a neverending cap for player's levels in Season of Arrivals through the 'Seed of Silver Wings' artifact.
