The world of the hit videogame Minecraft is returning to comics with a new graphic novel coming from Dark Horse Comics. Minecraft: Open World - Into the Nether is the latest adventure in the Overworld. This will be the fourth Minecraft adventure that the company will publish.

In recent years, Dark Horse Comics has released two Minecraft based comic series and an anthology graphic novel. These titles include MinecraftMinecraft: Wither Without You, and Minecraft: Stories from the Overworld. Now, another adventure is on its way, which will take place in a dark dimension many players have become very familiar with - the Nether. It's time for Dark Horse Comics and Minecraft fans to jump into their Nether portals alongside Sarah and Hector.

On its website, Dark Horse Comics has shared a listing for the upcoming graphic novel, Minecraft: Open World - Into the Nether. Written and drawn by Stephanie Ramirez, this story will bring together a veteran Minecraft player (Hector) and a player with no experience exploring the world (Sarah.) A new friendship will be forged with many challenges ahead when this original fantasy story releases. Check out the cover and synopsis here:

Sarah is new to the world of Minecraft, and without much knowledge on the world or how to play, she finds herself looking to veteran player Hector for help. Hector isn't used to exploring the Minecraft world with anyone other than his parents, so he's reluctant at first. However, Sarah's enthusiasm and all-around energy bring Hector around, and the two become partners - but more importantly, friends!

From in-world monster hunters to long-distance friendship connections via the game, Dark Horse Comics' Minecraft graphic novels have brought fans of the game several new adventures. Previous graphic novels have featured quests to defeat the Ender Dragon and battles with the Wither and zombies. It seems these young players will find lots of trouble and adventure ahead of them. Skeletons are likely going to be the least of their problems since they’ll be in a world full of piglins and hoglins.

Over ten years, after its initial release in 2011, Minecraft is still finding new ways of engaging its player base. From game additions to original stories in other media, there is plenty of trouble to get into and fun to be had. What's especially impressive about Minecraft: Open World - Into the Nether is the way it focuses on player experience rather than just the game world, offering points of real-world connection for young fans of the game as well as an exhilarating story.
