A new manga featuring demon kaiju is on its way with a leading avian hero - Rooster FighterAt New York Comic Con, VIZ announced several new manga series including one where giant demon monsters will be reckoned with by an unexpected hero. Next summer, fans can meet him.

New York Comic Con was hosted from October 7-10 this year. VIZ, TokyoPop, and Yen Press were all in attendance with new announcements. VIZ had several new projects to reveal, from DeathNote to Promised Wonderland. There are also many new series coming in 2022, of which Rooster Fighter is just one.

On Twitter, VIZ shared the NYCC newsRooster Fighter was created by Syu Sakuratani. The first volume has already been released in Japan, and now, the series will also come to North America. It promises heroic feats by a hero that readers likely wouldn't expect. Roosters aren't the first animal that comes to mind when considering heroic creatures, but perhaps perceptions of these feathered fiends will soon change. Thus far, not much has been revealed about the series beyond a very brief synopsis, meaning next summer can't come soon enough!

When it comes to fighting demons, manga fans have come to love Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no YaibaBleach, and InuyashaNow, Tanjiro, Ichigo, and Inuyasha will have this new demon fighter to add to their ranks. While the synopsis does not mention kaiju directly, these demon monsters are described as being giant in size and capable of leveling Japanese cities. This sounds exactly like Godzilla's modus operandi - as well as those of his foes, King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Destoroyah. Regardless of what giant may mean relative to a rooster, the ability to destroy Tokyo means these monsters are truly fearsome foes to come up against.

Rooster Fighter will pack a heavy punch if assorted images from the already released Japanese manga volume are anything to go by. This hero lives in a world populated by humans and his attacks are intense, capable of destroying the monsters he goes up against. He may be small, but his bravery and ferocity in battle are nothing to laugh at. This manga began as a web series and was serialized on Comiplex by Hero's Inc. since late 2020. This series has not only been licensed in North America, but also in Argentina, Spain, Mexico, and Brazil, by other companies. Rooster Fighter could be the next global hit in manga when it eventually arrives next year.
