A brand new iteration of the Justice League might be coming soon in the pages of DC Comics. On Wednesday afternoon, Brian Michael Bendis revealed a brand new teaser image for what appears to be a new Justice League squad featuring both news and familiar faces. The full tease hasn't been unveiled, but it's safe to assume the image might be Bendis' next project at DC.

The Justice League remains one of the most famous superteams ever assembled, as the roster has been changed dramatically over the decades. DC's Trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are among the heroes that appear most in different variations of the Justice League - and are seemingly represented in this image. Scott Snyder's run on the superteam ended earlier this year and the series has continued on with a handful of different creators including Robert Venditti, Simon Spurrier, and Joshua Williamson.

Now, it's important to remember that no official announcement has been made on whether Bendis will be taking over Justice League post-Future State, but that's certainly what the image implies - but it might not be the case. Bendis is a legendary writer whose catalog includes memorable runs on Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers, and Daredevil. Starting in 2018, Bendis started writing Superman titles as well as introducing new characters such as Naomi (whose own show on the CW is in development) and Jinny Hex (from Young Justice). The image of the new team appears to have Noami front and center.

From left to right, the new team (based on their costume) appears to be Hawkgirl, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Shazam, Naomi, Superman, Aquaman, and Batman. It's a nice mix of characters from all different eras. But who's missing? The big names include The Flash, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter, or any versions of the Green Lantern. Rarely does a Justice League team stay the same throughout an entire run, so for fans upset to not see their favorite heroes, it's possible they could still be on the way.

It will be exciting to see what the image truly represents. Bendis taking over on Justice League would be a good chance for him to steer DC's biggest superteam into some exciting new territory. For now, all we can do is speculate about what the book might be - but when it's revealed, we'll make sure to let readers know what DC is planning. It seems to be a new Justice League ongoing, but we'll have to wait and see until it's announced.
