Reagan became the loft's new, temporary roommate in season five of New Girl when Jess was sequestered in a jury for a murder trial. Nick and Winston meet Reagan in a doctor's office, where Nick is waiting to be seen for a back injury and Reagan, a pharmaceutical sales rep, is trying to sell drugs.

Nick instantly falls for Reagan and when he overhears her say she needs a place in Los Angeles to stay for the month, he offers her Jess' room. To everyone's surprise, Reagan and Cece know each other. They meet during spring break years before and even had a little fling. Reagan is dry, sarcastic, and ridiculously attractive, which also means she can be trouble and does some pretty terrible things to her new friends.

Makes Fun Of Jess' Room

Reagan struggles with first impressions. Initially, she seems to be very stand-offish and pretty insulting. When Nick and Winston are giving Reagan a tour of the loft, they take her to Jess's room, which will be her room during her stay. Reagan makes note of the decor in the bedroom and the fact that Jess has a lot of yarn and turns her nose up at pretty much everything she sees, which upsets not only the roommates, but fans of Jess as well.

She's Mean To Schmidt

Reagan and Schmidt New Girl

When Reagan first meets Schmidt, she thinks she knows exactly who he is. She tells him that he must have been overweight as a child, which is correct, but not the nicest thing to point out to someone you just met. Reagan also exchanges verbal blows with Schmidt after he learns that she and Cece had a spring break affair. Schmidt is obviously bothered by the information and instead of talking about it in a healthy way, Reagan uses it to belittle him.

Doesn't Hang Out With The Roommates

Once Reagan is moved in, she keeps to herself. One of the best parts of the loft is that everyone who lives there is very close and they all enjoy spending time together.

Reagan is more of a loner and even takes it a step further to deny invitations from her new roommates to do things as a group. Reagan insists on being an outsider. Maybe it's her fear of getting to close, knowing that her living situation is only temporary, but in any case, it's rude.

Lies To Her Love Interest

Reagan is very open about her sexuality from the very beginning, so it seems out of character when she runs into a girl she's dating while out for a jog and attempts to avoid her. Winston is with Reagan and lets it slip that Reagan is in LA for a month, which her love interest seems excited about. Reagan is upset Winston said that because she's been trying to avoid this girl for a while, even though she's hooked up with her numerous times at that point.

Puts Nick And Winston Against Each Other

In an attempt to prove a point, Reagan offers herself as the prize if Nick and Winston can agree on who should get to spend the night with her.

There are a lot of problems with this storyline because this storyline did not age very well, but it also shows how mean Reagan can be. She's not going to follow through on her promise, but she doesn't let Nick or Winston know that so they spend a ton of time arguing over her and it creates a momentary rift in their friendship.

Denies Her Feelings For Nick

It takes a few episodes for Nick and Reagan to get together because Reagan is pushing her feelings for Nick down in an attempt to avoid the reality that she really likes him, which is bad for both of them. Reagan is clearly into Nick, even if Nick can't see it, and the fact that she refuses to admit her feelings, makes Nick feel crazy and just leads him on. Once Nick starts to feel bad about himself, Reagan finally admits that she likes him, but it takes a lot for her to get to the point where she's able to do that.

Says "The Meanest Thing" To Nick

In one episode, when Nick and Reagan are alone in the basement of their building, looking for a circuit breaker, Reagan tells Nick that she hops the Chicago Cubs win the World Series and Nick's in a coma so he misses it.

Nick is obviously very hurt by Reagan's words and tells her it's the worst thing anyone has ever said to him. Reagan laughs knowing that she's hurt Nick's feeling and she never apologizes for what she says.

Refuses To Hug Jess

Everyone knows that Jess is a hugger and it's something everyone loves about her, except for Reagan. Reagan looks like she hasn't been lovingly embraced for years, and if she were, it would probably cheer her up a lot, but she refuses those signs of affection and actually seems to make Jess feel bad for wanting to hug her. Jess is trying to bond with Reagan, but Reagan doesn't make it easy on her.

Freaks Out Over The "R" Word

Reagan and Nick attend Cece's wedding in New Girl

Once Reagan and Nick finally get together, Nick lets it slip that he think they're in a relationship, Reagan is immediately turned off by the word Nick chooses and it shows. Reagan's reaction makes Nick really insecure and he goes into panic mode thinking he's messed up his chances with his dream girl. It's not until Reagan gets a pep talk from Nick's ex-girlfriend, Jess, that she realizes she does want a relationship with him.

Gets In Between Nick And Jess

Any New Girl fan knows that Jess and Nick were meant to be from the very beginning, so any love interests written into a season are just a distraction and are delaying the inevitable. Reagan may have been a much more welcomed character on the show if she hadn't been the one thing standing between Nick and Jess' happily ever after. Once Nick does finally end things with Reagan, he and Jess quickly find their way back to one another and live happily ever after.
