When Jess moved into the loft after her boyfriend cheated on her, she never expected that it would be the best decision she ever made. Jess's roommates in New Girl quickly became her family, and she couldn't imagine what her life would be like without them in it.
All of the guys had a huge impact on Jess, but her relationship with Nick was on an entirely different level. The two became best friends over the course of the first couple of seasons, and by the end of the series, Nick became her husband. Nick and Jess stole the hearts of viewers everywhere, and they have plenty of quotes that showcase how much they love each other.

One of the biggest differences between Nick and Jess is their maturity. Jess takes care of things that need to be done, but Nick ignores his problems and hopes that they'll eventually go away. It, understandably, stresses Jess out, and when she finds a box of overdue bills in his room, she uses the money he inherited from his father to pay them off.
Nick gets angry at Jess since he was planning on blowing the money on irrational things, but he eventually comes around. Even though Nick hates banks and doesn't understand how they work, Jess finds him trying to open a checking account to make her happy, proving how far he'd go for her.

Nick and Jess had just started their relationship, but outside drama was already putting it to the test. Schmidt tells Nick that he's cheating on Cece and forbids him from telling his girlfriend. But Nick can't keep a secret and he blurts out the truth causing Jess to confront Schmidt.
They all end up on a wild goose chase in which Jess tries to reveal the truth to Cece, and Schmidt tries to keep Cece away from her. By the end of the night, everyone is exhausted, but Nick and Jess still find solace in each other. Despite all of the spats they got into during the day, it doesn't change how much they want to be together.

At the end of New Girl Season 5, Sam helped Jess realize that she never stopped loving Nick. By the time she came to that conclusion, Nick was starting a serious relationship with Reagan. Jess spent a lot of Season 6 trying to hide her misery and support Nick in his new relationship.
Things only continued to get harder for her, and she goes to see her dad and get away. While there, Jess opens up to him about her feelings for Nick, and her dad tries to help her past them. However, Jess accepts that she'll never be able to move on from Nick because she loves him.

Nick and Jess are both chaotic characters, and like everyone, they have plenty of shortcomings. Jess mistakingly believes she killed Winston's cat and keeps it a secret from Nick for over a year. When the truth comes out, Jess reveals that she was afraid Nick would look at her differently.
Nick tells her that he would go out to the desert and help her bury the body if it ever came down to it. He makes sure Jess knows that nothing could change the way he feels about her, which is proof of the unconditional love between them.

At the beginning of New Girl Season 6, Jess was doing everything she could to keep her feelings for Nick a secret. It ends up being harder than she thought, and when Nick returns from a long trip, he's consumed by his new relationship with Reagan.
Jess confides in Cece about how hard it is to be aware of her feelings, yet unable to do anything about it. Simply laying eyes on Nick for the first time in months made her feel overwhelmed with love for him.

Nick and Jess weren't an official couple until Season 3, but there were Easter Eggs beforehand that made it seem as if Nick had feelings for Jess. It was never blatantly obvious because they had such a close friendship, but it wasn't hard to catch for fans who were looking for it.
When his ex-girlfriend believes Nick cheated on her with Jess, Nick tells her that while he didn't, he might as well have. He confirms that he had feelings for Jess since the beginning, as he fell in love the moment he laid eyes on her.

The quote might not seem like much, but in context, it's a significant moment between Nick and Jess. While everyone is playing a game of True American, Nick and Jess are locked in a room and can't come out until they kiss. They try to find a way around it, but when their friends won't let them off the hook, Jess suggests that they just go ahead and kiss.
They get into an argument when Nick won't kiss her, and he shouts, "No! Not like this!" Jess is caught off guard, and Nick is so embarrassed that he climbs out the window and tries to make it to the living room without falling off the edge. Later that night, Nick sums up his courage and kisses Jess for the first time. It's arguably the best kiss of the series, and he tells her, "I meant something like that."
"It's You And Me. It's Always Been You And Me."
Anyone who was invested in the series could tell that Nick and Jess were always supposed to end up together. They loved each other more than they loved anyone else, and it was obvious that they'd find their way back to one another in the end.
When Nick proposes to Jess, she's overjoyed, and she gives Nick a speech about how it's always been the two of them. There was something between them from the moment they met, and all of their other relationships paled in comparison.

When Nick can't get ahold of Jess, he calls her father hoping to reach her. To try and find out if Jess's love for Nick is unrequited, her dad asks him what he would do if he and Jess were stuck in the ocean with a shark swimming towards them.
After asking a bunch of ridiculous questions, Nick eventually says he'd be okay as long as he was with Jess. He goes on to say how incredible Jess is, which makes her dad realize that Nick is in love with his daughter. Jess's father tells her that Nick and Reagan broke up and Jess rushes back to Los Angeles.
"Oh, Come On. Please Go Faster! I Gotta Tell My Best Friend I'm In Love With Her!"
There were only five minutes left of what was originally supposed to be the series finale, and Nick and Jess still hadn't gotten back together. Nick goes to the loft to see her but finds her room completely empty. He hears Jess yelling outside to be let in the building and the two frantically try to get to each other. They end up switching places and try to get to each other once again.
As Nick waits for a worker to get his supplies out of the elevator, he begs him to go faster so he can tell his best friend he's in love with her. After the man gets out of the way, Nick sees Jess smiling at him. He goes inside, and when the doors reopen, the two of them are kissing as the credits roll.
