New Girl has become a fan favorite sitcom, and one reason is definitely because of its quirky, unique, and dynamic characters. The gang in loft 4D is hilarious and lovable, and beyond the core group, lovers of this show get to meet some pretty interesting recurring characters.

Of course, some are meant to be villains, and some are meant to be loved just as much as Jess or Nick. There are lots of recurring supporting characters on this series, so it's time to settle once and for all - which ones did fans love, and which ones did fans hate?

Worst: Daisy

New Girl Daisy

Fans know that Winston deserves so much more than Daisy, and there was nothing ever interesting or likable about this character. She really only cared about herself.

The only good she brought was Ferguson, and it's because of the cat that fans can forgive her for hurting the lovable and precious Winston. Daisy was selfish and flaky, and fans were applauding when Winston 'stole' her cat.

Best: Aly Nelson

New Girl Aly Nelson

It's hard to make a list of the best characters without including this firecracker. She becomes a pretty regular character in the last couple of seasons, but fans immediately fell in love with her.

From her spark to her sarcasm to her strong personality and brilliance, Aly was the character that all of these loft members needed - especially Winston - and every scene with her was all the more hilarious and memorable.

Worst: Principal Foster

New Girl Principal Foster

This slightly offensive and pretty selfish character definitely was used as a 'villain' for Jess and her career, but fans were also definitely on-board in hating him.

From making Jess do a bunch of work to saying things that are pretty creepy and sexist, Principal Foster was definitely a bad character, and it's a wonder how he ever became a principal in the first place.

Best: Fawn Moscato

New Girl Fawn

Fawn might be the worst best character or the best worst character, but it's honestly pretty hard for fans to hate anything about this 'villainous' and selfish character.

She had a lot of flaws, but she was also just totally hilarious and made every scene a bit more interesting. Lovers of this show are still quoting Fawn and were sad to see her go - even if they wanted Cece and Schmidt to be together.

Worst: Elizabeth

New Girl Elizabeth

Fans can say that they liked Elizabeth, but at the end of the day, she was the only thing standing between Schmidt and Cece. Of course, Schmidt did a terrible thing, but nobody was rooting for Elizabeth, anyway.

She wasn't the worst character the show brought forward, but she certainly isn't one that fans will remember or consider as one of their favorites.

Best: Reagan

Reagan in New Girl

Reagan sort of 'replaced' Jess for nearly a whole season, and while fans missed this quirky character, they couldn't complain too much - because they had Reagan, who couldn't have been a better fit.

From her mysterious personality to her dry humor to her stunning looks, this brilliant and dynamic gal was swooning everyone in the loft and in the audience. She left the series, but never any fan's heart.

Worst: Caroline

New Girl Caroline

When it comes to Nick's strange love life, Caroline is definitely the one that everyone can roll their eyes at. She had redeeming moments, but she mainly just brought out a weird side of Nick.

Plus, all fans got to see her at her worst, and her 'best' definitely couldn't let them forget her rage and selfish behavior. She took advantage of Nick too many times.

Best: Paul Genzlinger

New Girl Paul Genzlinger

This is one character that fans might have a hard time admitting they love, but really can't say anything bad about. Paul was always worthy of a laugh, and this sweet and wholesome character was a joy to watch.

He certainly had his weird quirks, but every single one was just entertaining, in a kind of cruel way. Still, it's hard not to love Paul Genzlinger, with all his weirdness included.

Worst: Benjamin

New Girl Benjamin

Fans were supposed to hate Benjamin as much as Schmidt and his friends did, and it definitely worked. Benjamin is Schmidt's old pal, but he's probably the most creepy and annoying character from the series.

He always thought he was too good, but this group of characters deserved far more than Benjamin. He was definitely one of the worst recurring characters, and fans were certainly glad to see Cece and Schmidt 'outdo' him.

Best: Robby

New Girl Robby

Robby might be the sweetest and most lovable character on the show. There's literally nothing to hate about him, and his likability is actually a running joke in the series - because there's just more and more to love.

He's smart, kind, funny, tough, and selfless, and Robby is everyone's wholesome crush from this series. There was never enough of this character on the show.
