The latest poster for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reveals Shuri as the new titular superhero. Released on November 11, the most recent entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows the leaders of Wakanda, who fight to protect their nation from intervening forces in the wake of King T'Challa's (Chadwick Boseman) death. Prior to the film's premiere, many began speculating who would become the new Black Panther, though fans of the comics knew that Shuri (Letitia Wright) would eventually be the one to don the suit. After suffering another major loss in combating the aggression of Namor and his people, the character ends up recreating the heart-shaped herb. She consumes it to gain her powers, finding herself in the Ancestral Plane and becoming the Black Panther.

Now Black Panther and Marvel Studios have released a new poster for Wakanda Forever, unveiling Shuri in her superhero suit. Shared on Instagram, it spotlights the character as the current Black Panther, seen giving the Wakanda salute. Check out the latest Black Panther: Wakanda Forever poster below:

What's Next For Shuri As Marvel's Black Panther

Those familiar with the comics are aware that Shuri's story is different in the MCU. Due to the tragic and unexpected passing of Boseman, it is likely that elements of Shuri's character will continue to change moving forward. By the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, she demonstrates just what kind of leader she can be, choosing not to kill Namor but instead, forming an alliance with him and the kingdom of Talokan. Viewers already know that Shuri is incredibly smart and understands technology on a level comparable to Tony Stark, and with some upgrades made to her suit, she could prove to be a strong superhero and ally in future projects.

As for where Shuri could appear next, the recent box office success of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever suggests that a third installment may be possible. With Kevin Feige and director Ryan Coogler having already discussed it, fans will want to see how Shuri continues past the events of this film. Beyond another Black Panther movie, the character could also make an appearance in Disney+'s Ironheart given her relationship with Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne). There is also speculation that Shuri could be involved in the next Avengers projects due to the number of crossovers in previous entries and because the scope remains just as large.

Looking ahead, whatever Shuri's role as Black Panther becomes in the MCU, Wright clearly has a bright future ahead of her. The movie's new poster manages to finally reveal her character as the next iteration of the hero, but it is also exciting to think that there is more on the way. Those looking forward to finding how she adjusts to life without T'Challa and Ramonda, or how she continues to fight for her nation, can be on the lookout for any future news. Meanwhile, audiences who have yet to see Shuri's development as Black Panther can check out Black Panther: Wakanda Forever while it is still in theaters.
