Another dangerous challenge is looming in Neverwinter, the Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG, as players work to defeat the evil looming in the Feywild in the 20th Module: Sharandar. The story continues with the release of Episode 3: The Odious Court, in which players will travel deep into the Dark Fey Mire to battle the Green Hag Velma the Bonegrinder and rid the land of her corrupting influence, while discovering the purpose of the Odious Court. Unlike the other hags, however, Velma has a special set of tricks players will want to be prepared for before entering the mire.

Neverwinter's Dark Fey Mire has become a refuge for the Dryads pushed from the Mended Grove when it was seized by the Night Hag from Episode 2: The Soul Keeper, Mathilda Soulstealer. It is also home to a group of frog-like beings called the Grungs, who are intent on keeping the Dark Fey Mire as their own. Together, the fractured group of Dryads and other dark forces lurking in the mire unite to keep the player's party and the Iliyanbruen from entering.

The Green Hag Velma the Bonegrinder is different than the other hags of Neverwinter's 20th Module. She is ready to interact with the party and enjoys tricking those who are willing to travel into the Dark Fey Mire. Her primary goal is to lure her victims deep into her domain, where she can twist their hopes into despair she then feeds off of. The tricky Green Hag is a favorite of Neverwinter's Lead Designer Randy Mosiondz, as well as Noah Holmes, Neverwinter's Senior Game Designer, for her genuine evil nature and classic D&D antagonist design.

Neverwinter's Velma The Bonegrinder Can Vanish Using Illusions

The Night Hag Neverwinter

While Velma the Bonegrinder shares many similar abilities to the Annis Hag of Episode 1: The Iron Toothand the Night Hag of Episode 2: The Soul Keeper, she does have a few unique abilities that will likely give the party a challenging fight. Velma is a required encounter when going through the story to assist the Iliyanbruen, and she will attack with her own magic arsenal including the spells Illusions and Poison Cloud. The spell Illusions allows the Green Hag to become invisible for a duration, making it so she cannot be targeted for attacks. She will then reappear along with copies of herself that players must dispel in order to target the real Velma. Once an illusion is defeated, Poison Cloud will be cast, creating a large toxic area that deals steady damage to all creatures within range over time.

The 20th Module for Neverwinter has marked a major milestone for the Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG. For 8 years, players have been a part of the world of Neverwinter as it has developed and changed, making the return to Sharandar that much more profound for those who remember their time in the Feywild during Module 1: The Fury of the Feywild. While the three Hags of Neverwinter's 20th Module: Sharandar are a daunting challenge, defeating them is a great way for long-time players to test how strong they have become throughout their journeys in the game.
