The Never Have I Ever season 2 trailer shows Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) dive head-first into the high school dating pond. Never Have I Ever, which is loosely based on creator Mindy Kaling's childhood, is a coming-of-age series centered around Devi, a first-generation Indian American high school student. The series follows Devi as she develops a growing interest in boys and complicated friendships while balancing her over-achieving attitude toward academics. Her tense relationship with her mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), is also central to the story, as it's only gotten worse since the death of her father (Sendhil Ramamurthy).

The Never Have I Ever season 1 ended with a cliffhanger involving Devi's love life, which will be central to the second season. Devi is caught in the middle of two potential boyfriends, one being her longtime crush Paxton (Darren Barnet) and the other her one-time nemesis Ben (Jarren Lewison). Her best friends Eleanor (Ramona Young) and Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez) are by her side every step of the way to give their own perspective and to bring a comedic element to the story.

Netflix released the full-length trailer for season 2, which is set to premiere July 15. The trailer starts with Devi weighing the pros and cons of dating Ben or Paxton, as she grapples with her "last chance for an American high school boyfriend." She ends up not picking and deciding to have two boyfriends, which will no doubt lead to some messy encounters. But she sees the new Indian-American girl at school, played by Megan Suri, as a threat to her position in the dating game.

Devi's not the only one coming to terms with her romantic life — Fabiola appears to explore the dating world after coming out last season. And her mom has quite a hard time dealing with the concept of Devi kissing boys, which isn't a surprise considering her overprotective parenting style. But Devi's good-girl attitude seems to give way to her new way of life. She proudly proclaims, "My mom doesn't tell me how to live my life. Meghan thee Stallion does" to prove she's not afraid to be a little rebellious these days. Check out the full trailer for below.

The new trailer for Never Have I Ever season 2 also gives a quick glimpse at newcomer Dr. Chris Jackson, played by Common. However, a potential cameo from Kaling is still up in the air, which many fans are calling for considering her personal connection with the plot. While Never Have I Ever season 1 introduced viewers to Devi's quirky demeanor and complicated family life, season 2 looks like it will be all about growth and Devi shattering the expectations of who she is expected to be. And now that viewers created a connection with her in season 1, Devi's impending growth during the new season of Never Have I Ever will be even more heartfelt to watch.
