Audiences of Never Have I Ever got some fantastic news this week — Mindy Kaling's show will return to Netflix on August 12, and Reddit is abuzz with theories and predictions about what season 3 could hold for Devi, Ben, Paxton, and the gang. Devi and Paxton shippers were left with the very pleasant visual of the two finally choosing each other at the end of season 2, while fans of Ben were a little more disappointed.

Either way, a brand new season is on its way to the streaming giant, and along with a slew of new characters, fans are expecting some fantastic plot twists (that Never Have I Ever is known for.) Since season 4 is bound to be the show's last outing, there will be some big moves made in the penultimate season of the Maitreyi Ramakrishnan-led comedy. Here are Reddit's takes.

Dr. Ryan's Life Will Be Delved Into

Dr. Jamie Ryan In Never Have I Ever

Viewers get to see Dr. Ryan only in small pockets during the show, when Devi goes to therapy and discusses her issues with her. The good doctor seems like a really fun human being with a rich inner life, so much so that fans want to see a lot more of her.

K8freed of Reddit says "I’d like to see a bottle episode from Dr. Ryan’s POV where we learn a bit more about her life and inner narrative." Here's hoping season 3 delivers.

Aneesa And Ben Will Break Up Due To Religious Differences

Never Have I Ever has some great duos, but it also does a satisfactory job of showing the dichotomy of two different cultures clashing, which often happens with these couples. Many Redditors predict that Ben and Aneesa will have to break up in a way that Devi and Aneesa can still stay friends, and that could likely be due to a difference in faith.

Randomlikeme mentions "I’d like to see an episode with Aneesa narrating where her family is a source of conflict since she is Muslim and Ben is Jewish and maybe that’s how they break up."

Nalini And Chris Will Be Endgame, But There Will Be Repercussions

Nalini and Chris looking at each other in Never Have I Ever

Nalini is easily the coolest character on Never Have I Ever, but she bears that brunt of being an Indian widow from many directions. Indian Redditors are eager to see how her relationship with Chris Jackson would play out, keeping Indian culture in mind and how widows are expected to refrain from finding a life partner, let alone dating.

____Mynameis____ says "I'd like to see the tremors it will cause in their Indian community. Not very likely but one can wish. 40+ year old widows with kinda grown-up kids remarrying are not something that usually happens among Indians. It's more or less unthinkable."

Paxton Will Struggle With Being In A Relationship

Never-Have-I-Ever-Season-3-Devi-&-Paxton

Paxton and Devi are very much couple goals, but it's easy to forget that the former jock had several commitment issues, many of which included not knowing how to date without his friends, and dealing with a "less cool" girlfriend like Devi.

Many think that his embarrassment about the relationship will be a big pain point for "Daxton" in season 3, with Consistent-Ad2763 emphasizing "Paxton and Devi are going to have relationship problems, I mean they would have to because it's literally normal and brings drama, they have to be endgame though otherwise I'm cancelling my Netflix subscription!"

An Episode Dedicated To Kamala's History

never have I ever season 2 ending kamala

Devi's cousin Kamala has been swinging between arranged marriage matches, sexism at work, and some strange ex-boyfriends since the beginning of the show. Little is known of her history and why she behaves the way she does (considering she chose to go karaoke with Devi's teacher instead of a big proposal dinner with Prashant.)

This is why fans want a dedicated episode to the breathtaking Indian beauty. Fn00b said "...it would be really interesting to know more about her work-life, pessimism towards arranged marriage, and the root cause of her fleeing from her proposal... She probably felt excluded as 1 of 4 sisters which is why she wanted to feel so included in her workplace? Or one of the sisters had a failed arranged marriage?"

Devi And Paxton Will Be Endgame

The "Daxton and "Bevi" shippers are formidable forces, but many Redditors feel that Paxton and Devi could end up together, most likely, and even stay together. The two are complete opposites, but inspire each other to be better people which makes them pretty great together.

It would be a total reversal of the jock and nerd stereotype that never work out, as SisterHatshepsut says "Turn the whole 'jock/nerd never work out' stereotype on its head. I think they could have a very complimentary relationship and I'd enjoy seeing that play out before the inevitable 'off to college' drama begins."

Chris' Son Could Be A Potential Step Brother

Shows like Never Have I Ever always have new characters entering and exiting the show, and many fans are expecting Chris Jackson, the object of Nalini's affections, to provide them with a new protagonist in the form of his son. If the two do get together, things could get quite complicated for Devi.

Mortadhg says "Chris Jackson and Nalini are sweet. Bring in the guys son and you've got a new plot device of Devi potentially having a step-brother." Things could get worse if his son is attractive!

Fabiola And Eve Break Up

Fabiola and Eve on the steps in Never Have I Ever

Eve and Fabiola were cute, but it was painful to watch Fabiola giving up her robotics passion to seem cool in front of Eve's friends, especially Sasha. It may seem resolved, but the particular storyline seems troubling and most Redditors want Fab to move on from Eve, quickly.

Terpyterp007 echoed these thoughts by simply saying "Fabiola ditching Eve and standing up to Sasha," is something they would like to see on Never Have I Ever. To be fair, Fabiola could find someone else just as easily.

Ben And Devi Become Solid Friends

More and more Redditors are admitting how much they love the friendship between Ben and Devi, and how that shouldn't be besmirched by a relationship. Their banter and competition is fantastic, and that very reason is why their relationship wouldn't be too successful either: because they're too similar.

Cheeseeateryo opined "Her and Ben are too similar and clash all the time because of it. They’re in constant competition with each other being the intelligent ones." while SisterHateshepsut said "I really feel like they're missing a trick not exploiting the banter and friendship they have and could have, in favour of a forced (imo) romance. Forget the lovey stuff and just build a solid friendship between these two."

Devi Will Stop Dating And Her Friends Will Understand Her Trauma

Never Have I Ever Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan)

The love triangle between Ben, Devi and Paxton is the fulcrum of the show, but it began with Devi being so hurt by her father's death that she became paralyzed. While she has done questionable things, her friends have been very hard on her for the smallest mistakes, and perhaps it's time for them to be more considerate of her misfortunes, and for her to stop dating till she has healed.

Cheeseeateryo says "...maybe Devi should not be dating. She’s trying to fill the void of her father and I want to see her heal. That being said, I think it’s time for her peers to understand her trauma. She is 16 and watched her father die, people constantly mentally abusing her is not helping her heal."
