The show Unsolved Mysteries aired for a total of 14 successful seasons from 1987 through to 2010 on different networks. While the series had several hosts, the most popular was Robert Stack, who became synonymous with the show for his ominous and engaging delivery of every story. The true-crime show covered, as its name suggests, various unsolved mysteries, from cold cases to paranormal phenomena. It was a hit with viewers, so it's no surprise that Netflix has resurrected the show for a season 15, which premiered on July 1, 2020.

The season is to include 12 episodes in total, but six are available thus far to stream. And each one leaves viewers with some burning questions.s

What Actually Happened To Rey Rivera?

Mystery on the Rooftop, the first episode in the season, is indeed a huge mystery. A happy, talented, in love man suddenly jumps to his death on the roof of a prestigious hotel? Something doesn't add up.

And while a weird note was found taped to the back of his computer containing quotes from the Freemasons, added more questions to the story, the idea that he committed suicide out of the blue isn't accepted by viewers. There's something more to the story and what really happened is the biggest question of the episode.

What Does Porter Stansberry Know?

In Mystery on the Rooftop, viewers learn of the seemingly happy, newly married Rey Rivera who ended up dead on the floor of the Belvedere Hotel, seemingly haven fallen (or was pushed?) through a hole in the roof.

While the central question is whether he committed suicide or not, another big mystery surrounds Rey's long-time friend Porter, who he worked with and who refused to talk to the police. Many believe that whatever happened, Porter knows more than he's letting on.

Is Rob Endres Going To Be Further Investigated?

Dubbed the new Carole Baskin, viewers of episode two, "13 Minutes," are convinced that Patrice Endres' husband Rob had something to do with her mysterious murder while tending to her hairstyling shop alone. Despite his ironclad alibi, Rob's strange behavior, choice of words, actions, and mannerisms in the interviews suggest that he is guilty of something. Murder for hire, perhaps?

Not only did he get oddly specific about what could have happened to Patrice, mentioning things like a wheelbarrow that could have been used to transport her body and that she might have been kept and "toyed" with before being killed, he also kept her ashes and treated them as if they were a possession. What is he not revealing?

Why Did Rob Endres Hate Patrice Endres' Son Pistol So Much?

Unsolved Mysteries Pistol Black

Rob from episode two, "13 Minutes," might claim that Pistol was jealous of his relationship with his mother, but that's pretty typical and expected of a young boy when his mother takes up with a new mate. Especially as an only child and someone who was at an awkward teenage period in his life, which Pistol was.

Having had kids himself who were now grown, one would think Rob would better understand that, and wouldn't blame a teenage boy for having completely normal feelings. He only alluded to the fact that Pistol was a troublemaker but never elaborated on why exactly he hated a teenage boy enough to lock him out of his own house immediately following the disappearance of his mother.

Is Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes Still Alive?

House of Terror

The most terrifying and troubling episode, in "House of Terror," an entire noble family, including the mother and four children, is murdered in their France home, their bodies neatly wrapped and buried under the terrace next to one another.

Their father, deep in debt and not living up to his family name, goes missing and is later seen on surveillance camera all over the country, doing everything from dining in restaurants to withdrawing money from a bank machine and checking into a motel. He surely wanted people to think he was about to commit suicide and didn't care if he was found. But did he? Or is he still on the run, almost a decade later?

Why Did Justin Not Come Back To The Party?

The looming question over this episode, "No Ride Home," is why would Alonzo's friend Justin not come back to the party to pick Alonzo up after getting lost? Even though his friends, who were white, did not see one another in terms of race, surely they recognized the rampant racism in the town where the party took place and the fact that Alonzo was the only black man amidst people giving him side-eyes.

Even if it meant getting home late or having to backtrack, it's never right to leave a friend at a party, especially one that's more than an hour away from home in a strange town. You go together, you leave together. So why did Justin just head home and ask someone else to bring Alonzo back?

Will Someone From That Party Talk?

In "No Ride Home," Alonzo Brooks found himself at a party in a small rural town with people he didn't know. As the only black person in a town full of racists, something was bound to go wrong. Alonzo went missing and his body later found in a creek.

How is it that not a single person at the party has been willing to talk? One rumor is that Alonzo was flirting with a white girl there, and/or she was flirting with him. Who is she and will she speak up about something she might know that can help the case?

What Did The People Of Berkshires Actually See?

Episode 5, "Berkshires UFO," was the only episode of the first season not to involve murder and missing persons but rather, paranormal happenings. In September 1969, several people reported sightings of an unidentified flying object (UFO). And some felt they might have been abducted, or at least that something weird happened that caused them to lose minutes or hours of time.

What did they really see? Was this a secret government or military device that was simply unrecognizable from an airplane? Or was it really life from another planet visiting Earth?

Where Is Lena Chapin's Body?

unsolved mysteries lena chapin with son Colter

It's almost a certainty that Lena Chapin, highlighted in episode six called "Missing Witness," is dead, likely murdered in order to prevent her from re-confirming the confession she made to her dead stepfather's brother (who was also previously her stepfather!) that her mother killed the man. The question is, will her body ever be found?

While Lena's mother Sandy claims Lena abruptly moved to Florida leaving her toddler son behind, no one believes that for a second. Yet without a body, there's no murder or conviction. Will the remaining sisters finally figure out where their sister's body is?

Will Sandy Chapin Ever Be Charged?

You'd think a recorded confession by the daughter of an assailant who is obviously trying to clear her conscience would be enough to convict someone of murder. But alas, that wasn't the case in episode 6, entitled "Missing Witness."

Sandy Chapin allegedly killed her husband – one of many she cycled through – and had her children cover it up. Even with the recorded confession from her daughter Lena, however, Sandy still walks free to this day. Will justice ever be served?
