Like many adaptations of a novel, the TV version of You does make some changes, but Joe Goldberg's (Penn Badgley) creepy nature remains the same. This is a guy who has no idea how to sustain a healthy romance and who becomes a crazy stalker the moment that he spots his next victim.

In season 2, fans see Joe move to L.A. and his obsession changes from Beck (Elizabeth Lail) to Love (Victoria Pedretti). Fans have a lot of ideas about what the story really means and what could happen in the next season, but some fan theories make more sense for the show's overall theme and purpose than others.

Best: Love Killed Her Husband James

Many fans believe that Love killed her husband. The main theory is that she poisoned him. It does seem plausible because she's creepy, she has murdered people before, and she reacted to his death in a strange and confusing way.

This also seems like a logical theory because Love wanted to have kids and he didn't. There is definitely something fishy going on here.

Worst: Love Is Pretending To Be Pregnant

One fan theory is that Love is pretending to be pregnant. While it makes sense that people are trying to figure out what is going to happen in the third season of the show, this doesn't seem very logical.

If Love was only pretending, she would have to say that she lost the baby or something bad happened before she gave birth since, of course, there wouldn't be an actual baby at the end of the nine-month period. And then how would she keep Joe around? He would just leave, wouldn't he?

Best: Ellie Can Take Down Joe

Would Ellie take down Joe in season 3? This is a really smart and interesting fan theory. Ellie (Jenna Ortega) is a great character who has so much spunk and passion. She does know a lot about Joe's dark life, after all, so maybe she could get even with him.

Even if this was only one episode, it would still work really well and show that the past always comes back to haunt someone.

Worst: Season 3 Will Be Love's POV

According to The Tab, there's also a fan theory that season 3 of You will be from Love's POV.

The cast of You is fantastic and it would be a lot of fun to see this, but it doesn't seem like something that will happen. If it was going to, it would have been logical for the second season to be narrated by Love, and that wasn't the case. It seems like the POV will always be Joe's.

Best: The Neighbor is Delilah And Ellie's Mother

It's possible that the neighbor is someone's mom (but not Joe's). Some think that the neighbor is Delilah and Ellie's mother.

It seems like this could be the case, as that would be an intriguing link between the second and third seasons. Even if this doesn't end up being true, it's still fun to think about.

Worst: Joe Moved Next Door To His Mother

One fan theory is that Joe moved next door to his mother. This doesn't really make that much sense.

Fans have learned more about Joe's sad childhood and backstory and how his mom abandoned him, but it seems like if the third season was about his discovering his mother, that would change the theme of the show. The focus wouldn't be on his love life anymore.

Best: Joe Will Get In Trouble For Peach's Murder

Peach opens the door at her birthday party in YOU

Joe peed in a jar when he killed Peach (Shay Mitchell) in the first season of You, and people wonder if this will be what takes Joe down.

It's very possible that this is how the authorities will learn who killed Peach and that Joe can't run away from the crimes that he has committed forever.

Worst: Beck Is The Neighbor He's Obsessed With

According to Buzzfeed, one fan theory is that Beck is the neighbor who is Joe's latest obsession at the end of the second season and the beginning of season 3.

While it makes sense why people would think that, it does seem like Beck is long gone, as Joe moved on from thinking about her and focused on Love in the second season. It just doesn't seem very likely that Beck would be alive still, as her death at the end of season 1 wouldn't have much dramatic impact anymore.

Best: Ellie Puts Out Forty's Film

Ellie and Forty (James Scully) worked on his film, and one fan theory is that she puts the movie out in the world. Jenna Ortega herself said she loves this idea.

The show has its share of unnerving moments but this would be a really positive storyline. It would mean a lot to Ellie to have some passion and purpose.

Worst: Paco Comes Back

Joe talking to Paco in Netflix's You

Yes, Joe is a creep, but he does look out for his neighbors, from Paco in season 1 to Ellie in season 2. This does bring a human element to his story, although it's good to always be reminded that he's still dangerous.

One fan theory that makes no sense is that Paco will come back. It just doesn't seem like this is something that would happen as it would be a distraction from the main story.
