Netflix divided up its new season of Unsolved Mysteries into two parts, and the second part, titled Volume 2, was released in October. It includes six different cases involving everything from missing persons and ghost sightings to the mysterious murder (or suicide) of a Jane Doe and a killer on the run.

Every episode of this Netflix reboot sparks plenty of questions about the cases, all of which remain unsolved, some even decades later. And just like the season 1, volume 1 stories, these six episodes lead to some burning questions.

Who Killed Jack Wheeler?

Unsolved Mysteries Jack Wheeler

The big question involving the strange death of former White House aide Jack Wheeler is, of course, who killed him? There are tons of theories. His state of disorientation leads some to believe he sought warmth in a dumpster after getting stranded and lost. But he had plenty of bruises on his body that suggest he was beaten to death.

Was it a robbery gone wrong? Or was it a hired hit? His widow seems to believe the latter since no one came forward with information to accept the reward. "Maybe they've already been paid," she said. Whatever the theories, the who and the why remain a mystery.

What Was Going On With Jack Wheeler?

Unsolved Mysteries Jack Wheeler

In the hours before his death, video surveillance paints a puzzling picture of a seemingly frantic Wheeler who might have been having a mental episode and believed he was being followed (and perhaps even actually was).

He was arguing with a parking garage attendant about his car being there, even though it was parked in another garage. He was walking about with one shoe, claiming that his briefcase was stolen. And he had hitched a ride with two young men to Delaware, though no one knows why.

Who Was Jennifer Fairgate/Fergate?

Unsolved Mysteries Jennifer Fairgate

The second episode, entitled Death in Oslo, tells the mysterious story of a woman found dead on a hotel room bed, a gunshot wound to the head. At first, it's ruled a suicide, but things start looking fishy. The woman can't be identified, yet she was able to check into a hotel with a fake name, address, and no ID or credit card. How?

What's more, her death looked to be more like a murder than a suicide: there was no gunshot residue on her hands, no fingerprints on the weapon, and all of the labels had been removed from her clothing, as if to prevent anyone from being able to trace her back to a particular place. After following any and every possible trail, including using a drawing of the woman's face, her identity still remains a mystery. Was she a spy? An assassin? And why are there no records of this Jane Doe anywhere?

Why Was Eubanks Permitted To Go Outside?

Unsolved Mysteries Lester Eubanks

The idea of prison reform makes sense, helping prisoners prepare for being productive members of society upon their release. However, Lester Eubanks was convicted and sentenced to death. When the death penalty was abolished, his sentence was switched to life in prison. Either way, he was never going to see the light of day.

So why was he added to a program designed to help prisoners upon their release? Even allowing them to go Christmas shopping at the mall? It doesn't make sense, particularly for a child killer in prison for murdering an innocent 14-year-old girl. Someone who worked at the prison knows something and did something to help him. Who and why are the biggest questions.

Where Is Lester Eubanks Today?

Unsolved Mysteries Lester Eubanks

Eubanks has impressively been on the run since 1975. He would be an older man now, potentially looking like this age-progression image. So it's a wonder he is still able to thwart authorities, though recent reports suggest that law enforcement might be closing in on him, and believe that he is, in fact, still alive.

Is someone helping him, and do they even know his true identity? Might they realize who he is now that this episode has come out? And will justice finally be served for his young victim Mary Ellen Deener and her grieving family?

Do The People Of Tohoku Province Still Report Seeing Ghosts?

Unsolved Mysteries Japan Tsunami

One of the most heart-wrenching episodes, this one recalls the devastating tsunami that hit Japan in 2011 and the horrifying stories from survivors about finding the bodies of their loved ones days, even weeks, later among the wreckage. But the episode's focus is on the number of eerie ghost sightings since. The most shocking ones include several instances where cab drivers drove long distances with the meter running after picking up a passenger only to find no one in the backseat when they arrived.

Some believe the sightings could be a manifestation of survivors dealing with their PTSD. But the journey of one woman who believes to be possessed by many of these lost spirits, and the Buddhist monk helping her release them, is compelling.

Did Someone Kill JoAnn Romain Because Of John Matouk?

Unsolved Mysteries JoAnn Matouk

It was a very intriguing case about a loving, very religious mother of grown children who attended church one evening and never made it back home. Evidence suggests she walked in four-inch heels up a rocky embankment and into the water to commit suicide, but it didn't make sense to the family nor some investigators. Her body was eventually found 30 miles from the church.

While the mysterious death seemed difficult to fathom for much of the episode, things started to make more sense when the family drama came to light. JoAnn's brother John discussed his dirty dealings around the time of her death and even admitted that it was "possible" someone killed her to get back at him, adding nonchalantly "I can't control that." Does he know more than he's letting on?

Did Tim Matouk Have Something To Do With JoAnn's Death?

Unsolved Mysteries Tim Matouk and JoAnn Romain

In true crime stories, when a victim tells someone when they're alive that "if something happens to me, look to X," the person signified as "X" usually had something to do with it. JoAnn said something to this effect to her daughter about her cousin Tim, with whom she was fighting just before her death over a family inheritance issue.

Tim was a police officer at the time, which would have given him plenty of access and capability to set up the murder while the animosity between he and JoAnn gives him a motive. However, Tim was questioned and was not found to be involved. Other clues not mentioned in the docuseries, however, create suspicion, such as theories of a potential police cover-up, leading to inconsistencies in the case, as well as spare keys to JoAnn's car that were found at the police station, even though they had presumably gone missing weeks prior to her disappearance.

Are Christopher And Shaun Still Alive?

Unsolved Mysteries Christopher Dansby

The final episode in the season chronicles the heartbreaking stories of two young mothers who, on two different occasions, three months apart, took their toddler sons to the same local playground. In both cases, they were left to feel a sense of dread and panic when their little boys disappeared while playing.

Some suspect that the two boys, aged 19 months and 2 at the time of their kidnapping, could actually still be alive. It's purported that they were abducted to be given (or sold) to someone who was unable to have children of their own. Will they ever be found? Is this true and are they, in fact, still alive?
