The Netflix 2021 TUDUM event unleashed a torrent of new television trailers for some of the most highly anticipated series of Winter 2021 and Spring 2022. This included both the latest seasons of popular series like The Witcher and Stranger Things and the first look at some long-awaited new shows, like The Sandman and Cowboy Bebop.

Netflix's annual TUDUM event is one of the biggest occasions in online entertainment. This year's TUDUM featured appearances by over 145 actors and creators from around the world. Over 100 total television series, films and specials were announced or teased as part of the event.

The lion's share of these presentations was for television series, with over 70 individual shows being acknowledged over the course of the three-hour global stream. While not every one of the 70+ series released a trailer or a teaser, there was still a considerable amount of exclusive new Netflix material to review. Here is a rundown of all the major trailers and reveals released as part of Netflix's 2021 TUDUM event.

Stranger Things Season 4

Picking up directly where Stranger Things season 3 ended, the next season of Stranger Things season 4 will involve the mysterious Creel House. The trailer shows Will, Lucas, Dustin, Max, and Steve breaking into the placid abode, but it does not take long for things to take a turn for the spooky. A premiere date for Stranger Things season 4 has yet to be announced, beyond it being due out sometime in 2022.

Money Heist Season 5, Part 2

Originally produced as a limited series for Spanish television, Money Heist proved popular enough that Netflix was willing to finance additional seasons of the fast-paced crime series about eight random people chosen by a mysterious figure known as the Professor to execute a number of daring heists. The second half of Money Heist season 5 is due to air on December 3, 2021. The trailer for the new season finds the thieves at each other's throats as they disagree about what to do in the absence of the Professor, who has mysteriously disappeared.

Ozark Season 4

Released in 2017 to rave reviews, Ozark is centered around financial advisor Marty Byrde (Justin Bateman), who becomes embedded within a drug-trafficking operation even after he moves from Chicago to a rural region in the Ozark Mountains. The upcoming fourth season of Ozark will be the last, consisting of 14 episodes that will be released in two blocks. An official release date has yet to be announced for Ozark season 4, part 1, beyond it arriving sometime in early 2022. The trailer for Ozark season 4, part 1, picks up right where the season 3 finale ended, with Marty and his wife Wendy washing the blood off their faces following the violent execution they witnessed.

Sex Education Season 4

Primarily focused on the socially awkward Otis (Asa Butterfield), Sex Education details the lives of the students, parents and staff of Moordale Secondary School after Otis starts an underground sex therapy group at the school. The coming-of-age series has been a critical and commercial success for Netflix, and its third season saw release earlier this month. Given that, it is not surprising that there was little to say about Sex Education during Netflx's 2021 TUDUM event, beyond the fact that the series will be returning for Sex Education season 4. An official release date has yet to be announced, but it is expected to be sometime in the later half of 2022.

Young Adult Series Spotlight

Locke and Key Season 2

Netflix has become known for their young adult programming, so it is no surprise that a goodly portion of TUDUM 2021 was devoted to announcing which YA series had been renewed. Fans of Blood & Water, Dear White People, Elite, Locke & Key, Lost in Space, Love 101 and On My Block can all expect to see new seasons of their favorite shows in the coming year. Netflix also announced the release of several new YA series, including Al Rawabi School for Girls, Bienvenidos a Edén, Chosen, Colin in Black & White, Invisible Thread, Las Niñas de Cristal, Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Open Your Eyes.

Bridgerton Season 2

Based on the popular series of novels by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton follows the lives of the Bridgerton family. The trailer for Bridgerton season 2 centers upon the rocky romance between Antony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and the object of his affections, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).  A release date for Bridgerton season 2 has yet to be announced, as it is still in the middle of filming, although it is expected to come out sometime in the first half of 2022.

The Sandman First Look

Based on the award-winning series of graphic novels written by Neil Gaiman, The Sandman is one of the most highly anticipated series of 2022. The first season of Netflix's adaptation of The Sandman will adapt the first two novels, Preludes and Nocturnes and The Doll's House. The first-look trailer for The Sandman is centered around the capture of the title character, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge), by a group of sorcerers led by Roderick Burgess (Charles Dance). This event set the stage for the saga that followed, as Dream endured captivity for seven decades before escaping and struggling to deal with the consequences of his absence.

Anime Spotlight

Aggretsuko

Netflix has developed a reputation in recent years as a quality anime creator and distributor. The TUDUM Anime Spotlight revealed this will not change in the coming year, with a new season on the way for Aggretsuko, Netflix will also be distributing Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie internationally and producing an anime spinoff of their original series Bright, Samurai Soul.

Cowboy Bebop Opening Credits Reveal

One of the most intriguing teasers released as part of TUDUM 2021 was the opening credits of Netflix's live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation. While not a note-for-note reproduction of the original series' classic opening, it did include the same jazzy theme and mimicked a number of images from the original animated sci-fi western about a team of bounty hunters trying to outrun their respective pasts while bringing the most dangerous criminals in the solar system to justice. Cowboy Bebop is set to release on November 19, 2021.

Cobra Kai Season 4

Based on the 1984 classic The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai grew into one of Netflix's most surprisingly popular series. The trailer for Cobra Kai season 4 finds longtime rivals Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) bringing their dojos together to train against the threat posed to them both by Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). Promised to release in late 2021, Netflix is just barely making good on that promise, with Cobra Kai Season 4 due to start streaming on December 31.

The Witcher Season 2

The Witcher season 2 trailer revealed that the new year will find challenges in plenty for Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), as he begins to oversee the training of Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) in the same arts he employs as a monster-slayer. The new season will introduce new characters, such as Geralt befriending a cursed man named Nivellen (Kristofer Hivju), whose story is reminiscent of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the BeastThe Witcher season 2 is poised to premiere on Netflix on December 17, 2021.
