After a week-long hiatus, Season 2 of Netflix's hit reality dating game show Too Hot To Handle aired its final six episodes on June 30, 2021. A lot transpired in the final half-dozen weeks of competition, which challenges single players to forge meaningful relationships while remaining celibate for the entire duration inside the lavish oceanside villa.
Over the four weeks of competition and high drama, certain players were able to find a match and make far more genuine romantic bonds than others. Some even expressed plans to pursue their partnership outside of the villa when the show ends.
Nathan & Elle
More of a fling than a long-term romance, Elle immediately set her sights on Nathan when she entered the villa in Episode 6. With little time to find romance, Elle pursued Nathan as soon as she learned he was a stripper in Dallas.
For his part, Nathan had just come out of a healthy relationship with Larissa in the household. Believing Larissa to be more concerned with the prize money than genuine love, Nathan rebounded with Elle in a mostly physical relationship.
Christina & Robert
By entering the villa in Episode 4, Cape Town model Christina Carmela and Londoner Robert Van Tromp were at a romantic disadvantage. While the other contestants had more time to get to know each other and build romantic bonds, Christina and Robert had to hit the ground running.
Despite being "not her type," Christina aggressively pursued Robert and had no qualms about breaking Lana's rules to be with him, constantly expressing how she wanted to rip his clothes off. Robert reciprocated a little too quickly, which ultimately led to their eviction from the villa.
Chase & Carly
During the first four or five weeks, Chase and Carly were hot and heavy and barely keep their hands off each other. As such, the lovable couple seemed destined for the winner's circle. However, once Tabitha entered the villa, Chase let his unquenchable lust get the best of him.
Once Chase left Carly for Tabitha, their relationship became ugly and contentious. While they tried to remain amicable, Carly had every reason to feel upset with Chase, especially given how lovey-dovey they appeared in the early part of the season.
Nathan & Larissa
Affectionately dubbed the "mom and dad" of the villa, British stripper Nathan and New Zealand lawyer Larissa seemed to be a perfect match. The two remained at each other's side and had the discipline to wait for Lana's green light to share a kiss.
However, their relationship went downhill after sharing a night together alone in the suite. Nathan felt Larissa was more interested in the prize money than she was in him, prompting him to gravitate towards Elle. When Nathan expressed how he felt to Larissa, she became the only contestant to willingly walk off the show.
Chase & Tabitha
Semi-professional football player Chase seemed to have a good thing going with Carly in the first few episodes of the guilty-pleasure reality dating show. However, when things soured, Chase immediately turned his eye to London model, Tabitha.
Tabitha was instantly smitten with Chase, who she was willing to break the rules for on the first day in the villa. The two began sharing a bed together and despite a brief flirtation she had with Cam in the shower, their romance persisted throughout. On the strength of their genuine romance, both Chase and Tabitha made it to the end as finalists.
Carly & Joey
Once Carly and Chase had a dramatic falling out, it seemed like she would never find a happy romance in the villa. When Joey entered the villa in Episode 6, he was immediately taken with Melinda.
Over time, however, the two beach-blonde twentysomethings began hitting it off in unexpected ways, growing closer with each passing day. In the end, Carly told Joey that he allowed her to see what a mistake she made by going after Chase and that she's much better suited with someone like Joey. As such, they got the green light to share a passionate kiss.
Cam & Emily
While Cam's lusty eye began wandering when Christina entered the villa, his heart ultimately remained faithful to the fellow British model, Emily. The second longest-lasting couple overcame a rocky few weeks before becoming finalists on the reality dating show.
Cam and Emily were the first to break Lana's rules and share a kiss, which cost $3,000. What began as physical lust turned into emotional love when Cam realized what a good thing he had in Emily. Thanks to a heart-to-heart with Nathan and Chase, Cam wisened up and told Emily the truth about his flirtation with Tabitha. As a result, the two became an official couple.
Marvin & Melinda
The alliterative match in Marvin and Melinda remained the strongest romantic couple in THTH 2. The pair immediately hit it off when Marvin entered the villa, and despite a mid-season tiff over Melinda being too clingy, they overcame their issues to become the only couple to have sex on the show. They ended the show as an official couple.
Although their tryst cost a hefty $20,000, Marvin and Melinda avoided elimination by showing true growth and genuine feelings for each other. After spending a night alone in the suite, they redeemed themselves by resisting the urge to have sex, which added $15,000 back to the prize pool.
