Netflix's The Society is a sci-fi teen drama, which features a large number of kids getting lost in a mirror world of their hometown, West Ham(they call it New Ham). There, they cannot find anyone but themselves and it, seemingly, looks like an abandoned place.

They quickly find themselves in an unprecedented situation, where they have to deal with a number of problems to fend for themselves and take care of each other without their parents' money. There are a large number of characters in this Netflix original, some good, some bad, some the fans like, and some they hate. Without further ado, let's take a look at the 5 most likable ones and 5 the audience can't stand.

Like: Helena

Helena is a lovable person, to say the least. She is sweet, smart, and always there for anyone in need. She always wants to do the right thing and is in support of the decision to run the town democratically.

Not everything is right with her, though as when things between her and Luke reach a standstill, one can see her vulnerable side. Still, she never loses her smiley face.

Can't Stand: Luke

Helena's boyfriend quickly becomes a hated character when he joins the coup headed by Campbell as they tell lies to everyone about Allie and Will. For Allie, he and his group was the muscle rather than the brains, when he wanted both.

And that's why he couldn't resist a seat at the table offered by Campbell, despite it coming at the cost of his morality. Now, because of that, he will have to keep lying to Helena which is the one thing she hates most.

Like: Sam

Sam is the opposite of what his brother Campbell is. He is caring, loving, and a brilliant friend to have, despite his disability to hear. He is a great friend to Becca and he even agrees to be the father to her child. Sam is in love with Grizz but he cannot be truthful to him about Becca as he has promised her to not tell anyone that he isn't the real father.

He offers everyone an insight into Campbell 'the psychopath' and why he should be stopped. Of course, he isn't and the first season culminates in Campbell standing tall.

Can't Stand: Lexie

Lexie is one of the candidates standing in the elections, with Harry and Allie. She is another one in a long list of people who don't really like the idea of sharing. She wants to give the teenagers whatever is theirs.

Despite her wanting to do the right thing, she also loses herself in Campbell's coup and sides with the villains. That makes the fans lose all their respect for her.

Like: Will

Will is a complicated character in The Society. He is and always has been a best friend of Allie's but he has a huge crush on Kelly. While Allie has feelings for him, Will, for some reason, always tries to "never get too close" to her.

He always stays loyal to Allie and in the end, he realizes that Allie is the one for him. But there's not a happy ending as they are soon jumped by Campbell and company.

Can't Stand: Dewey

Cassandra, being a leader in her school, steps up in New Ham and makes sure that everyone knows what needs to be done to survive. But, Harry doesn't like that idea, so one night, drunken, he goes on a rant about how he wants to kill Cassandra, and Dewey listens to everything.

And on prom night, with the help of Campbell, Dewey executes the murder of Cassandra as he shoots her in the gut. That's what he told when he was standing for trial (teens trial). Even if he killed Cassandra or not, his annoying nature makes the fans hate him.

Like: Allie

Cassandra's (the first head of New Ham, who was brutally murdered) sister Allie is the chosen one. At first, she seems like someone who keeps to herself and has no traits of being a leader. But when her sister dies, she is forced to take over the reins and she does a brilliant job.

Allie is a good leader and fierce young woman, who knows when to be strict and when to be easy. Unfortunately, not every teenager in New Ham thinks that way and she pays the price for it. Her fate hangs in the balance as season 2 nears.

Can't Stand: Harry

Harry is what one calls a snob. He is a rich man's son who is going through a rough phase, thanks to his breakup with Kelly. He doesn't accept the democratic rule and seemingly hates the idea of equality.

He doesn't do his work properly and is one of the candidates fighting Allie in the election. As expected, he jumps at the opportunity to take down Allie with Campbell and that makes the fans hate him even more.

Like: Gareth aka Grizz

Grizz is one of those characters you can't help but root for. He is sensible, smart, and he knows when to speak and when not to. He always wants to take up responsibility and his relationship with Sam is one of the best things about the show.

If there's anyone who deserves to be the leader of New Ham, it is him. But because he isn't into politics, he might never become one. But that doesn't stop the fans from pushing for it.

Can't Stand: Campbell

The mastermind behind everything bad happening at the New Ham is Campbell. First of all, he is involved in the murder of Cassandra and if that's not enough, he also brainwashes other people and manipulates them into doing his bidding.

He has kept Elle by his side forcefully and because of him, she has also done some terrible things. Campbell is now in charge of New Ham and season 2 might be more disturbing than the first one.
