Netflix giant, The Crown, finally released its fourth season and has undoubtedly captured the attention of millions around the globe. While the show's premise is based on the life and reign of Her Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, other supporting cast members have been getting a whole lot of attention for their character adaptations. One of those cast members is season four's, Emma Corrin. Corrin plays the part of Princess Diana.

With this iconic role, Corrin has seen her popularity onscreen skyrocket. One minute she was snagging small parts in television, and the next, she was a face that the whole world recognized. Now that we are obsessed with Corrin and her acting capabilities, it is high time to learn everything about The Crown's new leading lady.

Emma Was Never Meant To Be Diana

Emma brought the role of Princess Diana to life, and it will be hard to welcome a new Diana in future seasons. It turns out that Emma Corrin was never supposed to be Princess Di.

She was only brought in to read opposite the ladies auditioning for the role of Camilla. Although Emma was told that this experience was far from an audition, she prepared for the experience as if it was. All that preparation certainly paid off.

Her Canine Sidekick Has Special Significance

When Emma landed the role of a lifetime, she decided to celebrate by adopting a dog. It only felt appropriate to name her precious pup, which was tied to her big break in the industry.

Emma's dog is named Spencer. Spencer was, of course, Diana's last name before her marriage to Prince Charles. Fun fact: Harry Styles once dog sat for Emma's pooch while Corrin was out to dinner.

Corrin Learned The Art Of Dance For The Role

Before portraying Princess Diana, Corrin had basically no experience in the dancing realm. Corrin learned tap, jazz, and ballet while transforming herself into one of the most well-known women in all of history.

Of the learning experience, she has said that learning ballet at age twenty-four was simply the worst. She believes that learning dance is something that needs to be taught in those early, formative years.

Theater Trained And College Grad

If this whole acting thing doesn't pan out for Corrin, she has plenty of education to fall back on. Emma is a graduate of the University of Cambridge. She also studied education, English, and drama at St. Johns College between 2015 and 2018, where she also starred in several theater productions.

It seems that while Corrin is educated and accomplished, acting is where her heart and passion lie. She had only been out of her studies for a year before getting cast in The Crown. While she won't appear in future seasons of the series, we hope that we will see her in future shows.

Corrin Is Earning Quite A Paycheck For Her Work On The Crown

Before landing her role on The Crown, Corrin had a few small roles in other projects, including Misbehaviour and Epix’s Pennyworth series, but this most recent role is by far her biggest role to date. She starred in ten of season four's episodes and is expected to earn a pretty penny for her work as The People's Princess.

Fellow actress and relative newcomer, Claire Foy, made around forty thousand dollars for each episode that she starred in, so it is thought that Corrin will also rake in some serious dough.

Fashion Forward Actress

Emma Corrin has all the makings of an actress with staying power. She has had plenty of training in theater, at only twenty-four years old, managed to score the role of a lifetime, has famous friends, like Harry Styles, and is into fashion. Corrin has been a guest at several major fashion shows already.

She recently sat front and center at the Miu Miu show at Paris Fashion Week 2020 along with actress Lucy Hale. Our guess is moving forward, all eyes will be on Emma, what she is doing, who she is with, and what she is wearing.

Family Resemblance

At this point, it is nothing but obvious that Diana and Emma Corrin bear a striking resemblance to one another. Emma manages to capture the now deceased Princess's grace, beauty, innocence, and elegance in a way that we have not yet seen onscreen.

While Emma is a ringer for Diana, another one of her family members is as well. Emma's mother was mistaken for Princess Diana in a London cafe just hours after the beloved Princess's passing.

Practice Makes Perfect

When Emma landed the role of Princess Diana, the hard work was set forth in front of her. To encompass the spirit of the late Diana, Corrin went through six long months of training with a movement coach. She and the coach worked on things such as how Diana would have stood in a doorway.

Emma also worked tirelessly on speech patterns, matching hers as closely to the former Princess as possible. She also watched Diana: In Her Own Words countless times and met with Di's former private secretary.

One Crown Scene Landed Her In The Hospital

When Emma Corrin took on the role of Princess Diana, she likely knew that the work would be challenging, but she would not have guessed that it would have landed her in the hospital! The incident took place after her final scene, where she was playing in the pool with William and Harry.

The scene had been shot in Spain, and Emma had fallen ill with a bad cough. Because of her asthma, Corrin was sent to a hospital for a round of antibiotics before heading back home to the UK. An oxygen test alerted medical professionals of her low oxygen levels and resulted in her hospitalization.

Actress And Film Writer

We are so excited to see what the future holds for Emma Corrin. Her role as Diana won't be the last that we see her in; she is too beautiful and talented not to succeed.

Emma was a model before breaking into the business, is highly intelligent and educated, and is clearly a talented actress. Corrin has also dipped her toes in the screenwriting world. Corrin recently wrote and directed a short film called Red Rendezvous for Gucci.
