A new Taylor Swift documentary, titled Taylor Swift: Miss Americana, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 before hitting Netflix. It seems that fans will have access to some “emotionally revealing” material from their favourite star.

At the age of 29, Swift has become one of the most successful music artists of all time, with a huge string of awards and accolades under her belt including 10 Grammy Awards, VMAs and an Emmy Award, to name but a few. With album sales topping 50 million worldwide, it seems that Swift is an artist who will continue to influence the music scene for a long time to come. The new documentary will join the streaming service's library of music and tour documentaries, including her Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour show already available on Netflix.

Netflix announced that the documentary, Taylor Swift: Miss Americana will air on Netflix early in 2020. It will also open the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, premiering on Jan. 23. Directed by Lana Wilson (The Departure), the documentary promises to give a greater insight into the star, whose life seems to be under constant scrutiny within the media. The official press release states that Taylor Swift: Miss America “is a raw and emotionally revealing look at one of the most iconic artists of our time during a transformational period in her life as she learns to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”
