Co-created by The Office's Greg Daniels and Steve Carell, Netflix's latest sitcom, Space Force, stars Carell as General Mark Naird. In the show, General Naird is tasked with leading the newest branch of the US Military from outer space called Space Force.

Along with General Naird, viewers are introduced to his family and co-workers as he battles the obstacles of leading a brand new branch that's never been done before. However, not every character is as loved as the monkey in episode 2. To see which characters are fan favorites (and which ones the audience still needs to warm up to), keep reading.

Like: Dr. Mallory

Dr. Mallory is the chief scientist of Space Force. He works closely with General Naird and assists in getting Space Force off the ground in the safest and most reliable way possible. You could say Dr. Mallory is the level-headed scientific mind that General Naird relies on.

Fans adore Dr. Mallory's sarcastic delivery and honesty. He holds everyone to such a high standard and doesn't realize how comical he is when speaking to those who don't quite understand or agree with him. He adds a fun balance to the show and is needed to make Space Force work.

Can’t Stand: Tony

Space Force Tony Scarapiducci Ben Schwartz

As hilarious as Space Force's social media director Tony is, he is far too similar to Ben Schwartz's character in Parks and Recreation. It's as if Jean Ralphio left Indiana, changed his identity, and became the social media director for the government in Colorado.

Tony appears good at his job but his practices seem unconventional for the military. He also doesn't seem discreet or serious enough to be in this line of work. Although Tony is funny and adds humor to the series, his wacky ways are out of touch.

Like: Chan

Chan watches a rocket launch in Space Force

Dr. Chan Kaifang is a brilliant scientist and Dr. Mallory's assistant. Chan's brilliance shines brightly as General Naird and Dr. Mallory rely on his intellect. Chan is young but well-suited for his position. He knows exactly what Space Force needs to do in order to succeed in space and he can be Dr. Mallory's right-hand man in times of need.

Not only is Chan whip-smart but he's hilarious in a dry way. It's obvious he and Captain Angela Ali have a deep connection, and it will be nice to see where that goes in season 2.

Can’t Stand: Erin

Erin holds up a phone in Space Force

Space Force is obviously still fleshing Erin out. She's a young girl with a lot of layers but she doesn't have too many people who will listen to her. With her mom in prison for the next 40 years and her dad working overtime, Erin is alone a lot. She's on a downward spiral and it can make her seem ungrateful and distrustful.

Writing "Cheater" on Kelly's car was a rude move and the way she treated Duncan was upsetting since they clearly like each other. Erin has room to grow into a great character, but season 1 was not her season.

Like: Captain Angela Ali

Captain Angela Ali is a legendary character in Space Force. She's the first black woman to step foot on the moon and she offers General Naird invaluable assistance. From carting him around in his helicopter to taking charge in the charter to the moon, General Naird doesn't realize just how vital Captain Ali is to him yet.

At the end of season 1, it appeared that Captain Ali has a flirtatious relationship going on with Chan. A potential romance with two fan-favorite characters is definitely appealing.

Can’t Stand: Eddie

Eddie works odd jobs on the base. He may be good at what he does but he doesn't appear to be very intelligent. He chimes in at unprofessional times and doesn't seem to realize just how serious the Space Force is. When Dr. Mallory needs a mechanical specialist for the space mission, he ends up asking Eddie to join on short notice.

What bothers fans about Eddie is how out-to-lunch he is. He's never really relevant to the story and just seems to be there... Maybe he'll be a hero in season 2 but as for season 1, his character has little relevance.

Like: Brad

How charming is General Naird's personal assistant, Brad Gregory? He's a one-star general officer who's there to make Naird's life easier but he's not that great at his job. Unlike Tony or Eddie, though, Brad's heart is in the right place and he truly has the best intentions.

In one episode, General Naird was worried Brad was Space Force's snitch but after questioning him, his answers were so pure it would be impossible for him to do something so traitorous. If Brad comes back in season 2, it would be fun to see him save the day and do something that actually helps General Naird for once.

Can’t Stand: Bobby

Bobby's real name is Yuri Telatovich. He's a liaison for Space Force between Russia and America. He tells Erin (General Naird's daughter) to call him Bobby because it makes him fit in more. There's something about Bobby that isn't right, though. It's a little too suspicious that he cares so much about Erin out of nowhere. He also asked Erin personal questions about her dad, which seemed way too invasive for daily chit-chat. What's up Bobby's sleeve?

His true intentions weren't shown in season 1, but season 2 could be his time to reveal some secrets.

Like: General Naird

Steve Carell in Space Force

General Mark Naird is the protagonist throughout Space Force. As the first-ever general of Space Force, every decision of his could make history. He's very dry and stone-faced but as we get to know him, it's obvious he has desires like any other person. At work, he's serious and makes life-changing decisions all day, but at home, he's Mark. He's a normal guy with an intense job. Viewers can't help but root for Mark and hope he pulls through with Space Force, along with being a single dad of sorts to Erin.

Can’t Stand: Maggie

Why Maggie is imprisoned is unbeknownst to viewers for now but her behavior isn't giving her many brownie points. Not only did she land herself in jail for 40 years but she broke her husband's heart when she told him she was interested in exploring an open relationship.

While in jail, she realized she was bisexual and appeared to have an intimate relationship with a guard. The thought of his wife sleeping with another person pained General Naird. Seeing how hard General Naird works and how much is on his plate makes viewers dislike Maggie for putting him and Erin in such a tough spot.
