Netflix has produced some amazing original series over the past 8 years and things only seem to get better over time. The streaming giant began their original series journey in 2012 and hasn't looked back since. Because of this, fans have gotten to experience some exciting and thrilling original movies and series with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

As fans await the return of season three The WitcherNetflix plans to drop a miniseries that is the prequel to the series named The Witcher: Blood OriginThis new series should hold over-excited fans for the remainder of 2022. Some may think the Blood Origin prequel is a great idea and others may think it will backfire, however, it's coming either way.

Although the official date of release for the series has not been announced, fans have gotten a sneak peek of what the series has to offer through the trailer, and this has only added to the excitement and suspense for the release of the new show. Fans will get to see the origin history of the Witchers and the role of Elders and Elder blood and everything looks exhilarating and action-packed.

The Sandman (TBA)

Based on the comics from author Neil Gaiman of the same name, The Sandman will follow the character of Dream and also known as Morpheus. In the series, Dream is one of the seven Endless beings that keep a balance over a specific part of existence. Fans will get to meet these seven beings while also exploring Dreams' journey to restore balance to his realm.

For fans of the comic, this Netflix adaptation has been much anticipated and it will hopefully live up to fans' expectations. Based on the trailer for the new series, it looks like the series will stick with some key takes from the comics that will make it a more detailed and accurate adaptation for fans.

Locke & Key (TBA)

Following the events of season two, Locke & Key season 3 can't come soon enough. Season two of the series closed with the Locke siblings finally defeating the vicious Dodge, however, with every enemy cut down, there seems to be a bigger threat to take its place.

The siblings will be facing a new enemy by the name of Frederick Gideon, a Revolutionary War soldier echo demon that will be their biggest challenge yet. With more mystery, love, and action, fans are in for some surprises along the way with this new season.

The Umbrella Academy (TBA)

After that cliff-hanging ending in season two, the third season of The Umbrella Academy can't come soon enough. Fans were left with some questions that need to be answered like who is the Sparrow Academy? Are Five, Vanya, Luther, Diego, Allison, And Klaus powerful in this new 2019 reality? And with the Sparrow Academy being a thing, what does this mean for the Umbrella Academy kids?

Netflix has announced that season three will be released in 2022, however, no specific date was provided. Either way, this upcoming season will be worth the continued wait.

Stranger Things (TBA)

The wait for the hit series, however, could soon be over with Netflix announcing that the show's fourth season would be returning sometime in 2022. So, Stranger Things fans can get their binge snacks ready and catch up on the previous three seasons of the series as the wait for season four will soon be over.

Bridgerton (Coming March 25)

Probably one of the most successful original series on Netflix, Bridgerton is one returning show fans can't wait to see. With its high fashion, high society drama, scandal, and romance, fans are holding their breaths for the return of this breathtaking show.

The series second season is set for release on March 25, 2022, and has already been greenlit for a third and fourth season. In this upcoming season, there is a shift of focus to Lord Anthony Bridgerton as he goes on a quest for love after the first season focused on his sister Daphne’s entrance into high society and search for love. Fans are sure to see a multitude of old and new faces, including Kate Sharma, who's sure to give Anthony a run for his money come March 25th.

Top Boy (Coming March 18)

The show is sure to open this upcoming season with a bang, so fans don't want to miss what the show has in store.

Pieces Of Her (Coming March 4)

Is it possible to ever truly know someone, especially a parent? In the upcoming original series Pieces Of Her, Andy Oliver begins to learn some dark secrets from her mother’s past when an attack happens in their small town that brings hidden truths to light.

A spinoff of the original Vikings series, Vikings: Valhalla takes place over a century after the events of the original series. The series looks to follow legendary explorer Leif Erikkson (Sam Corlett) and the Nordic Prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter) as they look to forge their destiny on their own and make history.

The original Vikings series had some of the biggest and bloodiest battles to happen throughout the show that would make it hard to compete with. However, if the bloody trailer for Vikings: Valhalla is anything to go by, fans can count on this series living up to and maybe surpassing its predecessor in greatness and iconic status.

Inventing Anna (Coming February 11)

Based on real-life events, Inventing Anna follows a fake heiress, Anna Delvey, who scams and steals thousands from New York Elites, as well as committing bank fraud and hotel scams. As Anna continues her scams, there's a journalist hot on her tail ready to break the story or her scam.

The series has already received many praises for its fun spin on the true-crime drama, making it a hit before its release on February 11, 2022. For fans of true crime with a fun and dramatic look, this is the show for them.
