Netflix has a lot to compete with right now in the streaming landscape, but they know how to make (or find) a good reality show. Some of the offerings are a little unusual, but they have a way of making audiences come back for more.

Reality television has grown and changed a great deal over time, and the options are more varied than ever. Netflix has acquired and created more reality shows than we know what to do with, but here are the ten best guilty pleasure programs. For the reality connoisseurs who want to watch people date, sing, cook, design, laugh, and make others laugh and cry, here are some offerings to stream now.

The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow

This Netflix Original dives into unconventional health and wellness measures. Gwyneth Paltrow's The Goop Lab has garnered mixed reviews since its January 2020 premiere. The disclaimer at the beginning of each episode states that "The following series is designed to entertain and inform—not provide medical advice. You should always consult your doctor when it comes to your personal health, or before you start any treatment."

Paltrow calls Goop, which she founded in 2008, a "modern lifestyle brand." The work Paltrow and her team do is startling and is not for everyone. Psychic energy, physical discovery, and the new-age essence of Hollywood are captured on screen. The show is on the list because it is such a curiosity; it comes in last because it should be watched with a serious grain of salt.

Blown Away

Things are heating up on Netflix's Blown Away. To win the $60,000 prize package and take residency at upstate New York’s Corning Museum of Glass, contestants must prove themselves and work to become “best in glass.”

Nick Uhas runs the Hot Shop and walks contestants through the method of designing, creating, and presenting their glass-blown art to expert evaluators. It helps to have at least a mild interest in the process of glass-blowing, but it is rewarding to see the artists conquer creative challenges, like making artistic snapshots of themselves, crafting exquisite light fixtures, or turning bathroom objects into pop artworks. A great play on words, Blown Away is a good choice.

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

With its latest installment in 2019, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee gives audiences some comedy history with a side of jokes. Jerry Seinfeld opens each episode as himself, complete with a car and a high-profile comedian he can drive around in it.

Seinfeld chooses the car based on his guest’s personality. For example, Martin Short got to ride in a mango green Mercedes Turbo Diesel Wagon. Over his cup of joe, Short tells Seinfeld, "a funny line that is clever is the most exhilarating thing in the world." Comedians really open up to Seinfeld about their lives and careers; fans constantly learn new things about them, like Jamie Foxx's history with the piano.

Terrace House: Tokyo (2019-2020)

Three men and three women ranging in age from 20 to 31, who don't know each other, move into a swanky house together. Taking care of each other when they are sick, going out for pancakes and movies, having heated discussions late at night – it's all here.

Cast members introduce the program in the first episode of the season, revealing that Terrace House is unscripted and that they are, indeed, strangers. This guilty pleasure is ongoing, with its next installment set to come to Netflix on April 7.

The Bachelor Season 13

There is only one season of The Bachelor on Netflix, and it is a relic from 2009. If one's guilty pleasure is late 2000s nostalgia, then this season is the ticket. Bump-it hairpieces, wedges, and cocktail dresses reminiscent of a turn-of-the-decade homecoming dance – who can resist? Jason Mesnick paved the way for the most recent Bachelor, Peter Weber, to propose to the love of his life and then dump her for the other love of his life.

While there is no explanation for the stand-alone season, it is a fun trip through the rose garden of memory lane. Maybe the Bachelor Nation will see more of their favorite reruns on the platform at some point!

Love is Blind

Love is Blind is great for people who want a more straightforward, less raunchy version of Bachelor in Paradise. In this Netflix original series, 30 hopefuls do a unique form of speed dating. Couples can talk to and listen to each other, they can take notes on what they like and dislike to reflect on later.

They just can't see one another unless they become engaged. They spend their dates in separate pods and leave the element of physical appearance out of the equation. The journeys these men and women undertake are worth a watch.

The World's Most Extraordinary Homes

Caroline and Piers definitely have something on HGTV. The duo travels all over the world to experience the architectural marvels that some people call home. They explain, "We’ve been given the keys to some of the most incredible houses in the world…to discover the design innovation, passion, and endurance needed to transform architectural vision into an extraordinary home."

Whether they're in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the fjords and glaciers of Norway, or the waterfront of Florida, these hosts are sure to discover some astounding structures.

Styling Hollywood

JSN Studio's team for Netflix series, Jason and Adair centered

For a reality show that will immediately make viewers smile, watch designer couple Jason Bolden and Adair Curtis on Styling Hollywood. Jason is the fashionista who styles actresses like Taraji P. Henson, Yara Shahidi, and Sabrina Carpenter. Adair, in turn, styles homes for the likes of Jazmyn and Dule Hill as well as Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade. It's all under the umbrella of JSN Studio.

24 top-tier chefs from around the world compete to take a seat at the final table of culinary greatness. The chefs work in pairs, but only one can win the whole competition. Viewers are invited to watch the contestants cook the cuisine of nine different countries: Mexico, Spain, the UK, Brazil, India, the USA, Italy, Japan, and France.

Andrew Knowlton hosts the show and a different culinary legend from each nation serves as the supreme judge in each episode. The nine international culinary legends return for the finale to judge the finalists together. This is a one-of-a-kind cooking competition with a positive and professional atmosphere. Catch the winner's final moment of victory now.

Rhythm + Flow

Rhythm + Flow (2019) is a genius reality competition featuring aspiring rap artists. T.I., Cardi B., and Chance the Rapper find talent and audition them in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Chicago. The senior artists are just as competitive at choosing talent for the program as the talent themselves when competing!

Special guests like Snoop Dogg, Quavo, Twista, and more help the team judge in each city. For the contestants who make it to the next round in California, it is so much more than a competition. It is a path to their livelihood and their passion. Tests on freestyling, sampling, songwriting, music video-making, and even rap battles are sure to entertain viewers and leave them in suspense throughout the ten-episode process.
