Of course, one thing that nobody can argue against is the dramatic and unique characters that this show presents. From Edmund to Gwendolyn, there's a lot of differences to be had. It's time to figure out which of the 16 Myer-Briggs Type Indicators® they fall into - and which one you might be the most like.

Edmund Tolleson - ISTP

Ratched Edmund Cell

Edmund is a difficult egg to crack, and fans have seen the murderous and terrifying version of him, but also the sweet and calm one. An ISTP is known for being both spontaneous and rational - which Edmund has perfected.

They're unpredictable, but they're stable in a crisis, which Edmund impressively does even when he's fleeing a mental hospital. However, he's also stubborn, reserved, insensitive, and prone to risky behavior, which are all key characteristics of an ISTP.

Gwendolyn Briggs - ISFJ

Ratched Gwendolyn

Gwendolyn has a heart of gold, much like every ISFJ. This personality type is known for being supportive and smart, while also being super reliable and hard-working. They're loyal, just like Gwendolyn is to Mildred with no exceptions.

However, an ISFJ can also be a bit reserved and a bit emotional. Sometimes, Gwendolyn gets a bit caught up in things that don't concern her (like Edmund's escape), but that's typical of this kind of personality.

Huck Finnigan - INFP

Ratched Huck Finnigan

Aside from Gwendolyn, Huck was without a doubt the sweetest character that fans met in season one. This personality type is always trying to find their true calling, and they're thoughtful and generous people.

No one will forget when Huck ruined the hydrotherapy treatment or helped Mildred time and time again. An INFP is passionate, but they're also critical of themselves. Huck deserved better.

Governor George Wilburn - ENTJ

Ratched Governor Wilburn

The Governor is probably one of the most unlikable characters this show has to offer. He represents a lot of the ENTJ's bad qualities, to an immense degree. He's arrogant, impatient, and intolerant.

His stubborn and dominating personality is shown through his manipulation of Dr. Hanover as well as how poorly he treats Gwendolyn. He may be confident and efficient, like this personality type, but it's not usually for good.

Nurse Betsy Bucket - ESFJ

Ratched Betsy Bucket

Nurse Betsy Bucket went from a super annoying character to one that fans really can't help but love. She's a true ESFJ and represents loyalty, sensitivity, and a strong sense of duty.

No one cares about their job more than Betsy Bucket. She's also friendly and extroverted, but of course, all fans have seen her be a bit needy and inflexible (with Dr. Hanover and Mildred), which is also in keeping with an ESFJ.

Louise - ESTP

Ratched Louise

Fans may not know a ton about Louise, but they do know that she's bold, observant, direct, and a bit insensitive. All of these are some of the main traits of the ESTP.

From spying on Mildred to forcing her puppets on patients, there's a lot to say about her defiance and distance from social cues. Of course, Louise is also sociable and energetic, making any ESTP proud.

Lenore Osgood - ESTJ

Ratched Lenore Osgood

This personality type is often known as the 'executive', which is fitting for Lenore Osgood. An ESTJ is honest, loyal, and is strong-willed, and strong-minded. Lenore is certainly not one to mess with, and she shows her dominance and dedication by trying endlessly to get Dr. Hanover murdered.

Of course, every type has its weaknesses, and ESTJ's are being inflexible, judgmental, and being obsessed with reputation. She was a powerful woman with some pretty stellar moments, but clearly, her judgment was clouded, because her son got the best of her.

Charlotte Wells - INFJ

Ratched Charlotte Wells

There are more moments without the real Charlotte Wells than with, but fans know that Charlotte is actually a very soft-spoken, sweet, and down-to-earth character. As an INFJ, she's insightful and kind.

Of course, she's also a bit hesitant to let people in, and this personality type is known for being burnt out easily. Charlotte checks off all these boxes in her first meeting with Dr. Hanover, but unfortunately, he couldn't make it stick.

Dr. Richard Hanover - INTP

Ratched Dr. Hanover

An INTP is imaginative, and they're also great analytical thinkers. Dr. Hanvoer is definitely blunt and honest, which sometimes hurts the feelings of people like Betsy Bucket. However, he's always looking at abstract new ways of treatment, which an INTP would definitely do.

For his faults, he's withdrawn and he's insensitive. An INTP can also be guilty of being condescending, and it's more than clear that Dr. Hanover was a bit over the top with his staff. Of course, all of these negatives also attributed to his demise.

Nurse Mildred Ratched - ISTJ

Ratched Mildred

Nurse Mildred Ratched is another character that's really hard to read. However, she likely fits best as an ISTJ. She is honest, direct, and totally dedicated to her duties. She's surprisingly calm and practical, even when people are dying in front of her.

On the flip side, Mildred is totally stubborn and judgmental and can be a bit insensitive. Plus, ISTJs are known for always taking the blame, which Mildred does to an unreasonable degree with Edmund. She's a strong character who is both kind and cruel, and she's a perfect ISTJ.
