This weekend, Netflix is welcoming a sci-fi TV series, season 5 of one of the streaming giant’s most successful TV shows, and a thriller movie. Streaming platforms haven’t lost any force now that cinemas are open and working again all over the world amidst the coronavirus pandemic, and they continue opening their doors for the movies that chose to skip a theatrical release, have a simultaneous streaming and theatrical one, or shortening the window between these two. Such is the case of Netflix, which in addition to all that, keeps adding new licensed and original content every week, for all ages and tastes, ensuring that its subscribers always have something to watch.
Last weekend, Netflix added a long list of licensed content, most notably Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, Alfonso Cuarón’s A Little Princess, Sam Mendes’ American Beauty, the comedies Austin Powers in Goldmember, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, the teen comedy Clueless, the action-horror movies Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Resident Evil: Retribution, and Brian de Palma’s Scarface. When it comes to original content, last weekend welcomed the rom-com Love in the Villa, the thriller TV series Devil in Ohio, and the comedy-drama TV series Fakes. This weekend will see less licensed content, with the addition of season 11 of Call the Midwife, the teen comedy Vampire Academy, the Chinese fantasy series Love Between Fairy and Devil, the Spanish-language thriller Plaza Cathedral, and the South African movie Sun Cry Moon.

The Imperfects
The Imperfects is a sci-fi mystery TV series. It follows three outsiders who are leftovers of a series of science experiments gone bad, and will now band together to find the Mad Scientist responsible for said experiments, which transformed them into something that isn’t really human anymore. Starring in The Imperfects are Rhianna Jagpal, Italia Ricci, Iñaki Godoy, and Morgan Taylor Campbell.
Cobra Kai – season 5
Season 5 of Cobra Kai is now available to stream on Netflix. Following the results of the All Valley Tournament, Cobra Kai season 5 finds Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) leading the Cobra Kai empire into a new regime and trying to make his "No Mercy" style of karate the only game in town. Meanwhile, with Kreese (Martin Kove) behind bars and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) must call on an old friend for help.
End of the Road
End of the Road is a thriller movie directed by Millicent Shelton and starring Queen Latifah and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges. Brenda (Latifah), her two kids, and her brother Reggie (Bridges) are on a cross-country road trip that takes a wild turn after witnessing a brutal murder, and the family soon finds themselves in the crosshairs of a mysterious killer. Alone in the desert and with no help, Brenda is pulled into a deadly fight to keep her family alive. Also starring in End of the Road are Beau Bridges, Mychala Faith Lee, Shaun Dixon, and Frances Lee McCain.
