Get ready… because Christmas has started to arrive on Netflix! November’s additions to the streaming service’s catalog include a sprinkling of seasonal offerings, and while there are sure to be a few more in early December as well, Christmas fans can start to get in the spirit with new films like Angela’s Christmas at the start of the month, The Christmas Chronicles mid-month, and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding at the end.

Of course, there are plenty of other new additions too, from Netflix Originals like She-Ra, Princesses of Power to classics like Sixteen Candles. As the weather starts to turn cold, there are no shortage of options for curling up in front of a warm TV.

Francis Ford Coppola brings his own vision to the classic tale of the bloodsucker, adding some romance, amazing performances, and earning multiple Academy Awards as a result.

14. Close Encounters Of The Third Kind

Some more classic spooky viewing is also arriving on the streaming service this month in the form of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Steven Spielberg’s 1977 foray into the world of sci-fi and alien abduction. It’s a fantastic look at human obsession, aliens, and - of course - those iconic notes of music that everyone will know.

13. Doctor Strange

Another superhero joins Netflix this month, as Doctor Strange arrives on the 1st. The 2016 Marvel movie introduced fans to a whole new character - and a corner of the Marvel Universe that is filled with magic and mysticism. This is a straightforward origin story, which makes it perfect for newer fans who don’t know the rest of the MCU movies, but who just want to watch a surgeon become a superhero.

Get the tissues ready for this ‘90s tearjerker starring Robin Williams, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Good Will Hunting centers on a young man from Boston who is a janitor at MIT, but who is also a mathematical genius. When he is arrested for fighting, he agrees to take therapy and math classes as part of his plea, and he and the professor who discovered him work to battle his demons, and to figure out how he can reconcile the hugely different parts of himself.

This sweet film will leave you uplifted - and hungry! Perfect for a rainy November day when everything feels a little bit blue… Based on the book of the same name, Julie and Julia tells two stories simultaneously; that of Julia Childs as she learned to cook in Paris, and of blogger Julie Powell, as she turns to a cooking project to change her life. Charming and encouraging, the film has its sad moments, but is overall a great light film for anyone to enjoy.

Another absolute classic, Sixteen Candles was one of those films of the '80s that changed the teen movie game. The film stars Molly Ringwald as Samantha, a teen whose sweet sixteen birthday is forgotten by her family. As the day continues, we get a glimpse into the lives (and hopes and embarrassments) of multiple teens in Samantha’s life in a bittersweet and heartfelt offering from John Hughes.

9. The Other Side Of The Wind

The Other Side Of The Wind has been a long time coming - a previously unfinished mockumentary by Orson Welles, originally shot in the ‘70s. The project was filmed and edited on and off for years, and ran into financial difficulties along the way, but has finally been finished posthumously after years of legal battles multiple attempts. A documentary about the making of the film, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead, also hits Netflix at the same time.
