This weekend, Netflix is bringing the second season of an animated TV series, an action thriller movie, and the final season of the devil’s adventures on Earth. With cinemas all over the world now open again and active, and studios releasing all those movies they had to delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, the entertainment industry seems to be going back to normal, but that doesn’t mean streaming services have been forgotten. Different platforms continue to be the go-to source of entertainment for many, and services like Netflix continue to add new licensed and original content every week.

Last weekend, the streaming giant welcomed the rom-coms A Cinderella Story and Letters to Juliet, the sci-fi movie Chappie, the dramas Cold Mountain and Dear John, the superhero movie Green Lantern, the musical fantasy Labyrinth, and the comedies Mars Attacks!, School of Rock, and The Interview, along with the supernatural comedy Afterlife of the Party, the first half of the final season of Money Heist, and the animated TV series Q-Force. This weekend won’t see much licensed content, with the music documentary If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd, the buddy cop comedy Show Dogs, and the Nollywood movie Shadow Parties.

Kid Cosmic – season 2

Kid Cosmic season 2

Season 2 of Kid Cosmic is now available to stream on Netflix this weekend. The series follows the adventures of an imaginative and enthusiastic boy named Kid (voiced by Jack Fisher) who lives with his free-spirited Grandpa (Keith Ferguson) in a sparsely populated desert town. Kid’s dreams of being a hero seem to come true when he discovers five Cosmic Stones of Power in a wrecked spaceship, and so he forms a team of local heroes to stop an onslaught of alien attacks to steal back the stones, but Kid and company are really bad at being heroes. Season 2 will see the team being teleported into space and going on a quest to find the other eight Stones of Power to fight against Erodius the Planet Killer.

Netflix's Kate is an action thriller movie directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the title character. Kate is the perfect specimen of a finely tuned assassin at the height of her game, but when she uncharacteristically blows an assignment targeting a member of the yakuza in Tokyo, she quickly discovers she’s been poisoned in a brutally slow execution that gives her less than 24 hours to exact revenge on her killers. As her body swiftly deteriorates, Kate forms an unlikely bond with the teenage daughter (Miku Martineau) of one of her past victims. Also starring are Woody Harrelson, Michiel Huisman, Tadanobu Asano, and Jun Kunimura.

Lucifer – season 6

Lucifer season 6

The final season of Lucifer is now available to stream on Netflix. After following the devil’s adventures on Earth for five years, Lucifer season 6 will see the title character (played by Tom Ellis) as he becomes God... almost. As the world starts to unravel without a God, Lucifer hesitates on taking that role, but time is ticking as the apocalypse approaches and another big menace threatens to take the throne away from him.
