It's now 2019, and the new year has brought with it some awesome new thing to watch on Netflix this weekend. The final month of 2018 saw some major releases that are worth catching up on if you haven't already, like the Sandra Bullock-led thriller Bird Box and the interactive film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, where the viewer chooses how the story ends. If those don't interest you, however, there are plenty more new arrivals this week.
Lemony Snicket's miserable tale of the Baudelaire children comes to an end in A Series of Unfortunate Events season 3, which wraps up many of the show's mysteries. A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 3
The theme song may implore you to "look away," but the third and final season of A Series of Unfortunate Events is a must-see for those who have been following the story of the Baudelaire children and their cat-and-mouse game with the wicked Count Olaf (played in a variety of disguises by Neil Patrick Harris). This season takes the Baudelaires to the top of a mountain and to the bottom of the ocean before finally bringing them to the mysterious "Last Safe Place," where their troubles might finally end... or get even worse.
Tidying Up With Marie Kondo
Is your New Year's Resolution to do something about all the mess and clutter in your life? Find out how in Tidying Up With Marie Kondo, a new reality series in which sunny-natured organizing expert Marie Kondo helps couples, families and singles to rid themselves of the things in their homes that bring them no joy, and tidy away the rest in order to rid them the anxiety of being surrounded by too much stuff and being unable to actually find anything.
Almost 100 Movie Titles Added
If it seemed like Netflix's movie selection was getting a bit stale, now is the time to start browsing again. On New Year's Day the streaming platform added a massive library of new movie titles (while also removing more than 100 titles). The new additions include critically-acclaimed dramas like Blood Diamond and The Graduate, all four Indiana Jones movies, and comic book movies like The Dark Knight and Watchmen.
