Last weekend, the streaming giant welcomed the Bollywood thriller Thunivu, season 1 of MTV’s Floribama Shore, the Argentinian movie The Substitute, and season 1 of the Chilean crime series Chromosome 21, along with the documentary Bill Russell: Legend, the first part of You season 4, and the rom-com Your Place or Mine.
This weekend will see more licensed content than last week, with the arrival of the first season of the Koren drama series Mr. Queen, the Malaysian action movie Possessed/Rasuk, the action thriller movie 2 Guns, the horror movies 47 Meters Down: Uncaged and Ouija, the Bollywood movie Cirkus, and the historical drama The Woman King. All The Places is a Mexican comedy-drama movie directed by Pitipol Ybarra. It’s the story of Fer (Mauricio Ochmann) and Gabriela (Ana Serradilla), two estranged siblings who after not seeing each other in 15 years, reunite at their father’s funeral. There, they make the decision of healing their relationship while also fulfilling a childhood dream: a motorcycle road trip through México on their old motorbikes.
Full Swing
The latest addition to Netflix’s catalog of documentaries is Full Swing. This immersive documentary series follows a group of professional golfers on and off the course across a season of competition, as they endure a high-stakes schedule week in and week out on the PGA Tour. Full Swing also follows the biggest events of this sport, including the Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and more, and gives viewers a chance to know the players as well as witness what it takes to compete and succeed at the highest level in professional golf.
Red Rose
Red Rose is a British horror drama TV series, based on the teenage angst within a group of school leavers obsessed with their smartphones. Red Rose follows 16-year-old Rochelle (Isis Hainsworth) and her friends as they download an app called Red Rose, but they soon find out that using the app has sinister consequences. Rochelle and friends will now have to find a way to survive through the summer as the app makes dangerous demands with deadly consequences. Red Rose was broadcast on BBC Three in August 2022, and it’s now available to stream internationally on Netflix.
A Girl and an Astronaut
A Girl and an Astronaut is a Polish sci-fi romance TV series. It follows Nikodem (Jędrzej Hycnar) and Bogdan (Jakub Sasak), two friends and F-16 pilots who compete for a spot on a space expedition… and for the heart of Marta. Niko wins the former, but due to an unexplained problem, he comes back 30 years later, but despite the passage of time on Earth, he hasn’t aged at all. Niko can’t stop thinking about Marta, and in the meantime, the world wants to know the secret of his eternal youth.
