In March 2022, Netflix is adding a thriller drama TV series based on a novel, the German version of a beloved reality TV series, a limited docuseries about a famous painter and director, the final season of a historical fiction TV show, the spinoff series of a popular adult comedy series, the second season of a successful drama TV series, and a lot more. The coronavirus pandemic hasn’t stopped, and while cinemas all over the world continue to be open and house a variety of movies, streaming services haven’t lost any force and continue to be the main source of entertainment for many. Luckily for Netflix users, the streaming giant adds new licensed and original content every month, so they always have something to watch.

February saw the arrival of TV series like Murderville and Vikings: Valhalla, new seasons of Kid Cosmic, Raising Dion, Disenchantment, Young Wallander, and Space Force, and movies like Tall Girl 2 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. On the licensed content front, March will see movies like Battleship, Contagion, Shrek and Shrek 2, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Where The Wild Things Are, and Beirut, but all the attention will go to the original content Netflix is bringing, as some of them are some highly-anticipated projects.

Against the Ice (2022)

  • In 1909, Denmark’s Arctic Expedition led by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) was attempting to disprove the United States’ claim to Northeast Greenland. This claim was based on the assumption that Greenland was broken up into two different pieces of land. Leaving his crew behind with the ship, Mikkelsen embarks on a journey across the ice with his inexperienced crew member, Iver Iversen (Joe Cole). The two men succeed in finding the proof that Greenland is one island, but returning to the ship takes longer and is much harder than expected. Battling extreme hunger, fatigue and a polar bear attack, they finally arrive to find their ship crushed in the ice and the camp abandoned. Hoping to be rescued, they now must fight to stay alive. As the days grow longer, their mental hold on reality starts to fade, breeding mistrust and paranoia, a dangerous cocktail in their fight for survival.

The Andy Warhol Diaries (Limited Series)

  • From executive producer Ryan Murphy and director Andrew Rossi, this expansive, six-part portrait of a legend chronicles the remarkable life of Andy Warhol from the intimate vantage point offered by the artist’s own posthumously published diaries. Beginning with his childhood in Pittsburgh, the series traces Warhol’s almost unbelievably diverse journey fluidly moving between mediums and through eras as an artist – both revered and reviled – director, publisher, TV producer, scene maker, celebrity, and much more. While he was a larger-than-life figure, Warhol was intensely private regarding his personal life. This series truly reveals much about the very complex man through his own words – often in his own voice through the use of cutting-edge AI techniques – and those who worked, created, and played alongside him from the subversive to the mainstream, from John Waters to Rob Lowe.
