Along For The Ride - May 6
Based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Dessen, Along for the Ride follows Auden as she embarks on nightly quests with the mysterious Eli to discover the life she didn't know she was missing. Directed by Sofia Alvarez (To All The Boys I've Loved Before), Along for the Ride is set to star Emma Pasarow and Belmont Cameli, supported by Kate Bosworth, Andie MacDowell, and Dermot Mulroney. Along for the Ride releases May 6th on Netflix.
The Takedown (France) - May 6
A French action comedy directed by Louis Leterrier, The Takedown is a sequel to the 2012 film On the Other Side of the Tracks. Both Omar Sy (Lupin) and Laurent Lafitte are set to reprise their roles from the previous film. The Takedown is set to release on May 6th.
Thar (India) - May 6
Another film set to release on May 6th is Thar: an Indian neo-Western action thriller. Thar follows antique dealer Siddharth as he travels through a remote village and crosses paths with a local inspector investigating a string of murders. Thar stars father and son duo, Harshvardan Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Operation Mincemeat (Selected Territories) - May 11
Based on the book of the same name by Ben Macintyre about the titular Operation Mincemeat during World War II, this war drama is set to be released on Netflix in selected territories on May 11. Starring Academy Award-winner Colin Firth alongside Kelly Macdonald, Matthew Macfadyen, Penelope Wilton, Johnny Flynn, and Jason Isaacs, Operation Mincemeat boasts a talented cast. Originally given a theatrical release in the UK, Operation Mincemeat will be available to stream in North America and Latin America on May 11th.
Senior Year - May 13
A star-studded comedy with serious comedic credentials, Senior Year is also set to land on Netflix in May. The directorial debut of Alex Hardcastle (Parks & Recreation, New Girl, The Office) stars Rebel Wilson as a woman who falls into a coma shortly before her senior prom and wakes up 20 years later. Wilson is joined by Justin Hartley, Sam Richardson, Chris Parnell, Angourie Rice, and Tyler Barnhardt. Senior Year will release on Netflix on May 13th.
A Perfect Pairing - May 19
A romantic comedy starring Victoria Justice and Adam Demos is also coming to Netflix in May. A Perfect Pairing follows a wine company sales executive who moves to Australia, where she falls in love with a local that she meets on a sheep farm. Directed by Stuart McDonald, A Perfect Pairing is scheduled to release on Netflix on May 19th.
The Photographer: Murder In Pinamar (Argentina) - May 19
A documentary about the murder of photojournalist José Luis Cabezas in the 1990s, this true-crime story will delve into Cabezas' publication of a photograph of businessman Alfredo Yabrán, who had alleged connections to corrupt government officials. The Photographer: Murder in Pinamar is set to release on May 19th.
Interceptor - June 3
A star vehicle for Elsa Pataky (who previously appeared in Fast Five), Interceptor, will hit Netflix on June 3rd. Pataky stars as JJ Collins, a military captain who finds herself up against a team of mercenaries while defending her isolated missile interceptor base. Matthew Reilly's directorial debut is also executive produced by Pataky's husband, Chris Hemsworth.
Hustle - June 8
Netflix's highly-anticipated sports drama Hustle stars Adam Sandler as Stanley Sugarman, a former basketball scout attempting to revive his career by recruiting a player for the NBA. Appearing alongside Sandler are Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, Robert Duvall, and JoJo Siwa. Hustle is set to land on the streaming platform on June 8th and will feature appearances from numerous real-life NBA players alongside Adam Sandler.
Halftime - June 14
Halftime is a documentary about the life and career of Jennifer Lopez. Focusing on 2019, when Lopez turned 50, Halftime is set to premiere at New York's Tribeca Film Festival on June 8th. It will then debut on Netflix on June 14th.
The Wrath Of God (Argentina) - June 15
An Argentinian thriller, The Wrath of God centers on a string of mysterious deaths in a young woman's family. The Wrath of God is directed by Sebastián Schnidel and stars Juan Minujín, Diego Peretti, and Macarena Achaga. It is set for release on June 15th.
Spiderhead - June 17
A science-fiction thriller directed by Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, Top Gun: Maverick), Netflix's Spiderhead movie stars the impressive trio of Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller, and Jurnee Smollett. Set in a near-future in which prison inmates can reduce their sentence by volunteering for experiments using emotion-altering drugs, Spiderhead promises to be a mind-bending experience. The film is set to release on June 17th.
Civil - June 19
A documentary following the life of civil rights attorney Ben Crump. Crump acted as the civil lawyer for George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in high-profile cases, and Civil is set to premiere at 2022's American Black Film Festival. Civil will then be available to stream on Netflix on June 19th.
Love & Gelato (Italy) - June 22
Based on the book of the same name by Jenna Evans Welch, Love & Gelato follows a young woman traveling to Italy to get to know her father. It is set to release on June 22nd.
Hello, Goodbye, And Everything In Between - July 6
Directed by Michael Lewen (producer of The King of Staten Island), Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between is based on the novel of the same name by Jennifer E. Smith. Starring Talia Ryder and Jordan Fisher, Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between marks Lewen's directorial debut. It is set to release on July 6th on Netflix.
The Sea Beast - July 8
Featuring the voice talents of Dan Stevens, Karl Urban, and Jared Harris, The Sea Beast is an animated adventure movie whose story follows a legendary sea monster hunter after a young girl stows away on his ship. The Sea Beast will release on July 8th.
Dangerous Liaisons (France) - July 8
Based on the 1782 novel of the same name, this French film adapts the story previously told by Sarah Michelle Gellar in 1999's Cruel Intentions. Paola Locatelli and Simon Rérolle star as Célène and Tristan, respectively, as the former unwittingly becomes the subject of the latter's machinations. Dangerous Liaisons releases on July 8th.
Persuasion - July 15
Starring Cosmo Jarvis, Dakota Johnson, and Henry Golding, Persuasion is Netflix's adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel. Johnson stars as Anne Elliot, who is conflicted after the reemergence of a former love. Persuasion is directed by Carrie Cracknell and will release on July 15th.
The Gray Man - July 22
An action-thriller from Anthony and Joe Russo, The Gray Man, is also set to release in July 2022. Starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, The Gray Man's cast are rounded out by Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Jessia Henwick, Alfre Woodard, and Billy Bob Thornton. The film follows a skilled mercenary who becomes the subject of a global search after a former colleague puts a bounty on his head. The Gray Man is scheduled to release on July 22nd.
Purple Hearts - July 29
A romantic drama starring Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine, Purple Hearts follows an aspiring singer-songwriter who, against all odds, falls in love with a Marine. Directed by Ben Lewin and Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum, Purple Hearts releases on July 29th.
Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie - August 5
The upcoming animated film serves as a continuation of the TV series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Featuring the voice talents of Ben Schwartz, Omar Benson Miller, Brandon Mychal Smith, Josh Brener, and Eric Bauza, the film will follow the titular heroes as they protect Earth from the Krang. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie will release on August 5th.
13: The Musical - August 12
13: The Musical is also coming to Netflix in the summer 2022. Featuring the likes of Josh Peck, Rhea Perlman, and Debra Messing, 13 is based on Jason Robert Brown, Dan Elish, and Robert Horn's Broadway musical of the same name. The Netflix adaptation has been directed by Tamra Davis and will release on Netflix on August 12th.
Day Shift - August 12
Another movie coming to Netflix on August 12th is Day Shift, starring Jamie Foxx, Steve Howey, Karla Souza, Snoop Dogg, and Scott Adkins in an undisclosed role. Foxx plays a pool cleaner who doubles up as a secret vampire hunter. Day Shift marks the directorial debut of long-time stunt coordinator J.J. Perry.
Me Time - August 26
Me Time will also hit Netflix in August. Starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg, Me Time centers on a father who finds himself spending his first free weekend in years reconnecting with an old friend in what turns out to be a wild comedy adventure. Alongside Hart and Wahlberg, Regina Hall will appear here. Me Time was written and directed by John Hamburg and will release on August 26th.
