Netflix has announced John Mulaney's new comedy special, John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous at Radio City, a sold out show recorded at Radio City earlier this year.
Mulaney has had a fruitful partnership with Netflix, which is currently streaming two of his comedy specials; New in Town from 2012 and the Emmy-nominated The Comeback Kid in 2015. Netflix has also digitally released his Broadway run of Oh, Hello on Broadway with Nick Kroll, with whom he also works on Netflix's dirty animated comedy Big Mouth. Seth Rogen recently announced Mulaney as a performer in his own Netflix special, Hilarity for Charity. In addition to his stand-up, Mulaney also worked as a writer on Saturday Night Live, where he co-created Bill Hader's infamous New York City correspondent, Stefon. John Mulaney went on tour last year with Kid Gorgeous, and the second leg will conclude its run in April.
For those who missed him on tour, Netflix announced today the streaming premiere date for Kid Gorgeous. The special was filmed during a sold out, seven night stint at Radio City in New York City. Netflix announced the news on Twitter today with a preview of John Mulaney's entrance to the stage:

Mulaney has received rave reviews for his Kid Gorgeous tour, and the special will likely continue in the same vein as The Comeback Kid, which many considered a return to form. The title of The Comeback Kid, inspired mostly by his closing story about meeting Bill Clinton at the age of nine, also seemed somewhat inspired by his return to stand up after his failed multi-camera sitcom, Mulaney. Mulaney suffered mostly from low ratings and very poor critical reviews, which mostly compared the format and writing to shows like Seinfeld, just not as good. The Comeback Kid marked a triumphant return to stand up, and Kid Gorgeous will more than likely continue this hot streak.
Mulaney has become known for his numerous oddball stories and anecdotes, often accompanied by a litany self-deprecating jokes. His ease with an audience is remarkable, and the way his stories unfold make them very easy to come back to. For instance, in The Comeback Kid, Mulaney tells the story of meeting Bill Clinton in the same hotel where Harrison Ford's Richard Kimble confronts Dr. Charles Nichols at the end of The Fugitive, and delivers a spot on impersonation of Harrison Ford. One of his most well known jokes tackles Ice T's role as an investigator in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, who is trying his best.
John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous at Radio City premieres May 1 on Netflix.
