A new year means all new Netflix original horror movies that will join the streaming platform's already expansive lineup of content in 2021. The streaming service has approximately 70 movies set to release in 2021, with only a fraction including the horrifying, bizarre, and supernatural. Regardless of quantity, Netflix proved that they can provide quality horror entertainment in 2020 with impressive releases; this trend will continue throughout this brand new year.

In 2020, Netflix original movies in the horror genre ranged from zombie flicks to gothic horror adaptations. While they did lose a few titles, including Slasher - which is now owned by Shudder - they made up for it by expanding with Joe Hill's Locke & Key and Remi Weekes's His House. Netflix even added the highly anticipated follow-up to Mike Flanagan's The Haunting Of Hill House titled The Haunting Of Bly Manor in October 2020, which broke streaming records. As the new year drew closer, more horror movies were announced that would join Netflix's lineup in 2021 and beyond.
