After watching Ginny & Georgia, fans agreed that Georgia made some strange parenting choices, Ginny was lucky to have found her friend group MANG, and both Marcus and Hunter were swoon-worthy love interests. Viewers loved getting to know the cozy small town of Wellsbury and it was also fun wondering if Georgia would realize that coffee shop owner Joe had a crush on her.

While audiences loved this show and can't wait for season 2, many viewers had some unique, somewhat unpopular perspectives on the characters and their actions, and they shared their thoughts on Reddit.

Max Wasn't That Nice To Marcus

Reddit user Teabee27 posted that they don't think that Max treats Marcus fairly. They explained, "Especially considering he lost his best friend the previous year and had just gotten into a serious accident... She is always really mean to him and then for her to jump on Marcus at the end was ridiculous to me."

This is an unpopular opinion, as it's possible to view this sibling dynamic as relatable, especially since Marcus has a rebellious persona and Max tries to do the right thing.

Austin Needed More Screen Time

As Reddit user Ehh37482 said, "I binged this in a day. I really enjoyed it. I really wish they had focused more on the son's situation though."

Ginny's adorable younger brother Austin did have some struggles, from wondering about his dad to fighting at school, but it's true that the focus was definitely on Georgia and Ginny as they had very intense storylines. Maybe Austin will be a larger character in the next season.

It Was Fine That Ginny & Marcus Slept Together

According to Reddit user FamiliarDiscussion8, they didn't think that Max needed to get so mad that Ginny slept with her brother. They posted, "Why do people care so much about friends hooking up with their siblings?"

This is an unpopular opinion because many fans agree that Ginny should have told Max that she slept with Marcus, and they feel that Max was right to be upset here. This is a storyline that is often talked about when debating whether Ginny was a good friend.

Something Could Be Up With Paul

Reddit user GinnyandGeorgia wondered if Paul was up to no good and said he could be a "scammer." They explained, "I mean, he'll do anything to become governor - politics. And the things he says about being power-hungry."

This is definitely an unpopular opinion, as many fans love Paul and think that he's kind and treats Georgia well. He's worlds away from her other love interests, as her previous husbands were abusive and horrible. Paul also seems like a great politician as he cares about the people in his town.

Marcus Is Unlikable

Reddit user LegitimateOil90 doesn't think Marcus is a likable character. They wrote "I’m not a big fan of Marcus" and explained that he "isn’t able to talk about his feelings."

This is a new perspective on the character, as many viewers became invested in the love triangle between Marcus, Ginny, and Hunter. Fans felt that both were great love interests who had something to offer Ginny, as Marcus was just as lost as she was, and Hunter shared her passion and ambition.

Ginny Should Have Stayed In Wellsbury

Reddit user Sockedfeet thinks that at the end of season 1, Ginny and Austin didn't need to leave Wellsbury behind. The fan explained, "I thought it was kind of confusing because it seemed like she realized Georgia killed her stepdad because she knew that he was being inappropriate toward Ginny."

Whether people agree with Ginny's decision or not, it does seem like she had no choice but to get away, at least for a little while. She was shocked to learn about her mom's past and she didn't know what to do with that scary information.

The First Episode Wasn't Good

As Reddit user AntoineTodiscau explained, they think that the pilot of Ginny & Georgia doesn't have the same tone or feeling as the rest of season 1. The fan wrote, "I appreciated how much better the characters got fleshed out after a few episodes, and the build-up really pays off in the last part."

This is an unpopular opinion as fans seemed to love the show from the very first episode and it got a lot of buzz right away. The pilot does a good job of exploring Georgia's past while leaving enough mystery to hook fans, along with introducing viewers to the sweet town of Wellsbury and Ginny's desire to fit in.

Georgia Doesn't Return Joe's Feelings

Reddit user MsGroves doesn't think that Georgia likes Joe. They explained their view of this relationship: "She's not interested in him.. just yet. She even downplays the moment Maddie says Joe likes her. This scenario is used to show Georgia's selective obliviousness, so it can be explored later on and things are kept in the air."

For many Ginny & Georgia fans, Georgia should choose between Paul and Zion, but Joe was a potential love interest as well. Many feel that Georgia and Joe flirted and had great chemistry, but this fan doesn't think that she feels that way about him. Time will tell if they will get together in season 2.

Georgia Is A Likable Character

For Reddit user copperboom63, Georgia is a likable character. In response to another fan comment about the mother and daughter, this user said, "I love them both, too! It’s such a great show. Georgia keeps me laughing and like you said, Ginny is a very normal teenager."

Learning the fate of Georgia's many love interests can make it hard to like and root for her. While she loves her kids, she did commit crimes by murdering her husbands. No one is going to excuse that, but some fans can see the good in her as she is just trying to protect herself and give her children a good future.
