While a horror movie needs enough scares to keep audiences interested, whether a slasher or supernatural story, the characters should also be well-drawn. Thankfully, that's the case with Netflix's Fear Street trilogy. Fans get to know both teenagers and adults over three movies, and it's fascinating to learn how everyone is connected. In this horror universe, no one can escape the past, as living in the small town of Shadyside affects everyone in some truly awful ways.
Whether talking about major couple Deena and Sam, their best friends, or those who are part of Shadyside's horror history, the Fear Street characters lend themselves well to the twelve zodiac signs.
Leo: Deena
Deena is a fan favorite Fear Street character, as her love story with Sam, bold personality, and braveness are examined over the trilogy. Deena has many Leo traits, from stubbornness to passion to wanting to be at the center of the action.
In the first movie, Deena does everything that she can to protect Sam, who has become possessed by Sarah Fier. She wants to save her friends, and she puts herself in the middle of the mystery. Leos have leadership qualities and out of all of the main characters, Deena exhibits that the most.
Virgo: Sam
When audiences meet Sam, it's through the lens of Deena's pain. Sam has just moved to the nice nearby town Sunnyvale, and she's happy to be in a better environment, but Deena is devastated and feels ignored.
Sam has many personality traits of Virgos signs. She's sweet, quiet, seems to work hard, and doesn't like to cause trouble. She hates that Deena is so upset but isn't sure how to fix things, and like Virgos, it's tough for her to admit how she feels or get too vulnerable.
Libra: Nick Goode
Nick Goode is a key part of the Fear Street murders, as the Goode family made a deal with Satan, and now the Sheriff is carrying on his family's awful legacy. As long as the Goodes sacrifice people, they can stay in power.
Nick Goode sounds like a Libra, as he has to be creative enough to keep this legacy going without anyone finding out what's going on (although, of course, his secret gets out). Libras can also feel sorry for themselves and hold grudges, and that's exactly what Nick does.
Scorpio: Ruby Lane
Fear Street: Part One is a great slasher and that's thanks to the killers whose identities are revealed. Ruby Lane is one signature slayer who gets possessed by Sarah Fier and murders her friends and boyfriend in the '60s.
Based on what audiences know of Ruby, she seems like a Scorpio: a strong, tough person who can be passionate and envious of others. Scorpios are said to be leaders who can be aggressive, and Ruby embodies those traits, although in an immensely evil way.
Sagittarius: Alice
Fans meet Alice in Fear Street Part Two: 1978. Alice is Cindy's best friend and fellow counselor at Camp Nightwing, and she's a bold, brave rebel who doesn't want to be told what to do.
Sagittarius signs are the most bohemian of the entire zodiac, preferring travel and zero rules to a more traditional life. Likewise, Alice hates following rules, and when she learns that there's a killer at the camp, she tries to help Cindy figure out how to stop them. Alice would prefer to just chill and be left alone all summer, but she knows that this is important.
Capricorn: Kate
Before the teens of Shadyside notice something weird going on in the first movie, Kate is just like a traditional Capricorn. She's a valedictorian and cheerleader who does well in school and seems to have a good head on her shoulders.
Capricorns are responsible people who will always do the right thing, and fans are still devastated that Kate dies in the first movie, especially since her murder is so brutal. Kate seems like someone who others can count on to do anything, anytime.
Aquarius: Josh
Many fans think Fear Street improves on Goosebumps, and while the trilogy is more adult, Deena's younger brother Josh is a great, well-written child character who adds credence to their argument.
Josh has some traits of Aquarius signs, as he's curious and wants to learn all that he can about the history of Shadyside. Out of all of the characters, he's the most invested in the past killings, and while at first it seems like he's too obsessed, he's on the right track. Aquarius signs can be quiet but they're smart, thoughtful, and don't mind spending time alone.
Pisces: Nurse Mary Lane
Nurse Mary Lane is Ruby Lane's mom, and she is understandably horrified by what happened to her daughter. She scares audiences in Part Two: 1978 when she hurts Tommy and warns him that he's going to die.
Mary has Pisces traits, as she's emotional and sensitive. Pisces signs can be sad and they also hate violence, and it's clear that Mary is very affected by her daughter's possession and killing spree. She is definitely haunted by her past.
Aries: Sarah Fier
The curse of Sarah Fier is essential to the story of Fear Street, as the other characters learn more about her and why she was killed. She was hanged when people thought she was a witch, and she began possessing others over the decades.
Sarah seems like an Aries - a fire sign who has passion, strength, a sense of self, and tons of bravery. Sarah knows that her fellow townspeople don't trust her or believe in her, and she is understandably scared, but she has a courage within her that is similar to Deena's.
Taurus: Cindy Berman
Fans meet sisters Cindy and Ziggy at Camp Nightwing, where they're just trying to get through the summer - and where they learn that a killer is attacking everyone, making survival unlikely.
Cindy is a typical Taurus - stubborn, tough, and someone who others can count on. She's responsible and one of the only counselors who seems to care about the camp running smoothly.
Gemini: Ziggy/C. Berman
The end of the second movie has a big twist, as fans learn that the young Ziggy grows up to be C. Berman, and Ziggy's sister Cindy is the one who died that summer at Camp Nightwing. C. Berman is a terrified, troubled adult who has carried around this pain for years.
Gemini signs can have two types of personalities, as they can crave alone time, but they also can be friendly and up for having an active social life. C. Berman has this dual personality; when she's young, she's a brave rebel who wants to have fun, and when she's older, she's hiding from the world.
Cancer: Simon
Deena and Kate's friend Simon is kind, sensitive, and moody, just like many Cancer signs.Simon fits into this zodiac sign well, and he proves himself to be a loyal friend who will do what it takes to help them.
Sadly, Simon meets an untimely end and dies in a supermarket, which is one of the most intense deaths in the Fear Street trilogy. It's even worse that the town doesn't seem to care, as they judge him for dealing drugs.
