In Netflix's The Baby-Sitters Club, there is one cardinal rule: the sitter always puts the kids first. Despite the kids at the center of the show, based on the beloved novels by Ann M. Martin, giving in to their own wants every so often, by and large, the main characters are just as selfless as most of the Disney princesses are.

Though the members of the BSC never find themselves in Disney's fairytale-like situations, these enterprising young women could certainly hold their own in a Disney movie. Each of them has an animated Disney counterpart whose shoes they could fill if needed.

Dawn: Esmeralda

Baby Sitters Club Dawn Disney Esmeralda

If the Baby-Sitters Club had yearbook superlatives, Dawn would likely be voted most likely to start a revolution. She's the character most likely to be tasked with taking on real-world problems in the series. No cause is too small or too big for her to put her heart into, which means she's got a lot in common with The Hunchback Of Notre Dame's Esmeralda.

Both young women are champions of the people. They just want to see those who are outcast and persecuted treated with the respect they deserve. Though Dawn and Esmeralda might live in different time periods and different countries, they share the same mindset.

Mary Anne: Rapunzel

Baby Sitters Club Mary Anne Disney Rapunzel

An introvert to the extreme, it takes Mary Anne quite a bit of prodding to come out of her shell and overcome that shyness. She's locked into the image that people — mostly her father — have of her.

Now, Rapunzel might not be painfully shy, but she does know a thing or two about being locked in. In her case, it's literal instead of metaphorical. Both characters have to deal with being held back by parental figures and learn how to stand up for themselves. Of course, Richard Spier is no Mother Gothel.

Karen: Alice

Baby Sitters Club Karen Disney Alice

Karen Brewer becomes Kristy's stepsister by the end of the season, and she's definitely a fan-favorite character. She's interested in funeral services, haunted houses, and ghost stories, which seems a little dark for her age. But the truth is, Karen just has a really great imagination.

That's why her Disney counterpart is Alice. Alice's story takes place in a land built by a child's imagination. Playing cards come to life, roses are painted red, and the danger of making the queen angry is all too real. Karen would definitely follow a rabbit with a pocket watch to see where it goes.

Logan: Florian

Baby Sitters Club Logan Disney Prince Florian

Logan is a sweet kid, but other than the fact that he makes Mary Anne nervous, supports his sister at her art shows, and volunteers to read to younger kids at the library, the audience doesn't get to know him.

The same is actually true of Prince Florian as a result of the role he plays in Snow White's story. He clearly cares about Snow White as he sings to her and breaks her curse with a kiss, but the audience doesn't really know him beyond his love interest appeal. He seems sweet, but that's about it. When the series returns for the second season, just who Logan's Disney counterpart is might change.

Mallory: Belle

Though she appears early in the series as part of the Pike family, the audience doesn't get to know Mallory well until the end of the first season during the episodes at Camp Moosehead. It's there that Mallory shows herself to love a good Broadway show as much as Mary Anne, but she also adores the outdoors, horses, and is up for an adventure.

She's not unlike Belle in her eagerness to take on an intrepid task. Belle spends a lot of her time getting lost in books before she makes a trek through the woods to save her father. Mallory devotes her time to Mary Anne's musical before she sets out on her own adventure with Kristy to help find a missing Karen.

Jessi: Aurora

Baby Sitters Club Jessi Disney Aurora

The audience gets to know Jessi even less than they get to know Mallory over the course of the show's first season. What they do know is that she's got a curious nature and she loves to dance.

Aurora, with what is known about Jessi so far, is a good fit for her counterpart. Like Jessi, she loves to dance. While a lot of early Disney princesses are seen dancing in their films, Aurora even sings about it, with a handsome prince in the forest to boot. It's also Aurora's curiosity and eagerness to explore that gets her into trouble with a spinning wheel. Jessi's doesn't cause her any problems but does get her a junior membership in the BSC.

Stacey: Anna

Despite all of the circumstances that life throws at her — diabetes, overprotective parents, bullying, etc. — Stacey is an eternal optimist. She's always finding the beauty in things around her, and a way out of a messy situation.

Stacey's perfect counterpart is Frozen's Anna. Much like the BSC treasurer, Anna is strong-willed and determined. When life throws snow at her, she makes friends with an enchanted snowman. Anna and Stacey are also quick to connect with people, which isn't always the best thing for them since they both fall for the wrong guy before realizing it.

Laine: Snow White

Baby Sitters Club Laine Disney Snow White

Laine is introduced at summer camp as one of Stacey's former friends from New York. In fact, she used to be Stacey's best friend. She also makes fast friends with Mary Anne.

Now, Snow White isn't Laine's counterpart because she lives with a bunch of strangers and does a bunch of cleaning, but because, like Snow White, when Laine finds herself in an unfamiliar situation, she does everything she can to smooth it over. Snow White decides to make up for taking over the house of the dwarves by helping out. Laine tries to make Mary Anne more comfortable at camp by becoming the stage manager for her show. Laine is also unfairly blamed by Stacey for something that wasn't her fault in New York, just as the queen unfairly targets Snow White.

Claudia: Merida

Baby Sitters Club Claudia Disney Merida

At first glance, Claudia and Merida have nothing in common. Claudia loves all forms of artistic expression, from painting to fashion, while Merida loves her bow and arrow. That being said, the two have similar states of mind.

As much as they both love their families, they both often feel like they don't quite fit in with their families and lash out at other members. That can end up with them in over their heads, but they also both strive to make things right. Merida wants to pave her own path to the throne, just as Claudia wants to pave her own path with her art.

Kristy: Nani

Baby Sitters Club Kristy Disney Nani

One of the reasons Kristy has so much babysitting experience at such a young age is because she's often the one to take care of her little brother when her mom has to work. Kristy ends up being the one her siblings can depend on in sticky situations, though she might be hard on them sometimes.

That makes her a lot like Lilo & Stitch's Nani, though Kristy doesn't have to raise her young sibling on her own. For Kristy, her family means everything, and it's hard to adjust to the idea of it changing when her mom meets someone new. Nani works extremely hard to keep life stable for Lilo (and herself). Both young women have incredible work ethics and hearts.
