Even in the era of other services, Netflix continues to dominate the streaming market - an expansion that has included the acquisition of dozens of awesome anime shows. The sheer variety of content on Netflix, as well as the vast quantities of it, beats out all the competitors, and Netflix subscriber numbers keep climbing. It's bizarre to remember that Netflix, once upon a time, was a DVD mailing service.

Over the past several years, Netflix has stepped into original content, with film and TV programming that's won awards, as well as hordes of devoted viewers. One area they've been building a substantial following in is anime. Netflix is home to many series from Japan - a mix of classics and hot new favorites. Not only is Netflix the exclusive international distributor for a lot of anime, but they've also gotten into the market of producing original anime for worldwide audiences. It's been a boon for anime fans and curious newbies alike, and there's more coming on the horizon.
