As a part of the E3 celebrations,  Neko Ghost, Jump! was given the title of best Indie Games Showcase trailer by the audience watching. This is in contrast to the official awards show at the end of the four-day event, which awarded Fallen Frontiers with the prestigious title of best trailer.

Neko Ghost, Jump! is an all-new 2D and 3D hybrid puzzle-platformer by developer Burgos Games. This indie developer studio is based in Beaufort SC, USA. This is the team’s first game, having run a successful Kickstarter for the title back in 2020, raising $20,052 and beating the initial $15,000 goal. In 2021 the studio was awarded an Epic MegaGrant, helping the developer continue working on the title. Over the years, the game has evolved in leaps and bounds, attracting a large portion of the audience at this year’s E3 event.

The indie games showcase at E3 2021 was a relatively small event, but it still had some exciting games, so the platformer's viewer-appointed victory is still a remarkable achievement. The news was announced by the official Neko Ghost, Jump! Twitter account earlier today. This adorable, cat character-based platformer has clearly stolen the hearts of the E3 audience this year, enough to outshine every other indie title at the showcase. One of the reasons that Neko Ghost, Jump! may have stood out from the rest due to the way the game seems to capture the essence of the Paper Mario franchise, with the game allowing players to switch between a 2D and 3D camera perspective in order to overcome platforming puzzles. This has been a popular theme this year at E3, but Neko Ghost, Jump! has clearly managed to make the gameplay mechanic its own.

Neko Ghost, Jump! Wasn’t the only award winner, as various Most Anticipated Awards were awarded for every single stream that ran during the week. Forza Horizon 5 was awarded the Overall Most Anticipated game of E3, and Microsoft and Bethesda, who showed it off during their joint presentation on Sunday, were awarded the Best Presentation Award for that very show.

It is not yet known when Neko Ghost, Jump! will be released, as the title has been delayed from the initial July 2020 release date. There is no word yet on when Burgos Games is planning on releasing the game, but based on the trailer shown at E3 this year, it looks to be coming along quite nicely, and has a lot of fan support to boot.
