The Fosters star Teri Polo has joined the cast of NCIS season 19 in the role of Alden Parker's ex-wife. Polo began her acting career in 1986, with a role in American soap opera Loving, and has gone on to appear in numerous successful shows through the years, including Northern Exposure, Felicity, and The West Wing. She is best-known for her role as Pam Focker in the Ben Stiller-fronted movie trilogy Meet the Parents. In recent years, Polo has appeared in successful TV crime serials, including two separate guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a role on Law & Order: LA, and an episode of CSI: Miami.

Now, Polo will add another successful police procedural to her resume with an upcoming role on NCIS, according to Deadline. The actress will make her first appearance in the NCIS season 19 finale before returning in a recurring capacity for the upcoming season 20. She will play the role of Vivian Kolchak, a former FBI agent who became a paranormal investigator. Most excitingly, Kolchak is the ex-wife of Special Agent Alden Parker, played by Gary Cole. NCIS also stars Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, David McCallum, Rocky Carroll, and more.

NCIS season 19 will come to a close in May, with season 20 likely picking up in September. The long-running series has experienced a number of changes with season 19, as original lead Mark Harmon departed in the fourth episode. Still, the addition of Parker's ex-wife can give season 19 some classic NCIS flair since Harmon's Leroy Jethro Gibbs was known for his own former spouses. It'll be interesting to see how NCIS chooses to put a spin on this familiar story.
